Venetias looks to be your unassuming family diner vibe, owned by the same family for over 50 years, it very much is what this place was. The food is not incredible, but it is edible. There are booths, and even countertop barstool, and all the other things you'd expect in a dinner, but when that bill comes you're left wondering why you paid so much money for such a basic meal. Price gouging is a big thing in Old Orchard Beach. This cafe highlights the current state of Old Orchard. Overpriced, mediocre, and generally speaking, trashy. It's really unfortunate because you can see how this place could be lovely, but like the surrounding environment, it's just not. Families would be well advised to avoid the financial burdens set upon them in this cute cafe, and make your own meal. To be fair, the food is not bad, it's just way way way overpriced.

Went here for lunch on someone's recommendation. Glad we did. Very good clams and local shrimp. The ambiance is nothing special, sort of 70's diner, but the food was good and reasonably priced, which is more than I can say for the more popular place closer to the Pier we ate at last night. Staff is friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere in this family-owned and operated restaurant is conducive to conversation, even between different parties. We met some folks from D.C. on their first visit to New England. We visit OOB every summer and have tried a variety of places. This will now become one of our regular stops. I look forward to trying their breakfast.

The most pleasant breakfast experience we had on our visit. The staff was friendly, it was clean, plenty of space, and the most affordable. It also tasted great! I got the Yaya’s Special, pictured below with a pancake peaking through. Wife got a bagel and bacon.

If you are looking for Italian cuisine DO NOT go here! Still upset about what I paid for this meal! As an Italian ordering veal cutlets I expected a nicely cooked meal what I got was a frozen veal patty covered in brown gravy, a scoop of mashed potatoes and canned beans with nothing on them! Now being times as they are I got the food being served in cardboard containers but $75 for frozen food ...no! My daughter’s Caesar salad was all salad barely any dressing her boyfriend had the only decent thing but he had a sandwich my husband’s pasta was at least al dente with a couple 1 1/2 in meatballs. That’s what we paid $75 for..,like I said if you are looking for Italian cuisine...
