Sunset Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Old Orchard Beach

We had a party of 8 (6 adults and 2 children). Our drinks were ok, no issues there. Our appetizers were tossed onto the table, when the waitress came back we told her the order was wrong. She returned with all but one if the appetizers, more on that later. We ordered the Fried Brussle Sprouts, Lobster Spinach Dip, wings, and Seafood Cakes. Wings were fair. Brussel Sprouts were sauted in a balsamic reduction, they were good. The seafood cakes had more potatoes than seafood and the Lobster Dip was lack luster.

For the main course there was an $8 kraft Mac&cheese, Cheese Steak, two orders of nachos, Caesar Salad, Jerk Chicken Tacos, Fish & Chips and a Burrito.

The good, one order of nachos was quite good. The salad was OK and the fish and chips were pretty good.

The bad, one set of nachos was missing onions so the waitress took them back and threw raw onions on top. The cheese steak was bland and had a stale bun. The Burrito was more of a veggie wrap.

The Ugly, the Jerk Taco should be renamed the rainforest because it poured water. The Sriracha mayo was most of the flavor, there were some jerk spice, but most of it was burned away by the grill. The salsa had no flavor and just caused a big mess. Our AWOL appetizer arrived part way through the main course.

The manager did discount the one order of nachos, cheese steak and the tacos by 50% after I had showed her the video of my leaky tacos.

While the price is fair for OOB, I won't go there for supper. Hit it up after the bar and you'll care less about their shortcomings.

I have been going to the Sunset Grill for a few years now. It has been my favorite place to eat and hang out. This year it was not !!! This year it has been sold to the same people that own the Brunswick. They got rid of the adorable atmosphere. We sat at the bar and ordered our meals right away. Two hours later we were still sipping the same two drinks we started with and the waitress finally noticed that we hadn't gotten our meals yet. She said they still hadn't cooked our meals but she was putting them in now. Well the sun had already set and it was getting cold outside so the thought of eating a $26 meal in the freezing cold did not appeal to me. I told her to package them to go because I was still starving and didn't want to have to try another restaurant after waiting 2 hours at this one. She handed me the slip and charge me the full price until I started to complain and then she only took $6 off each of the $26 meals we ordered. After waiting 2 hours and being forgotten I think they should have taken more off than that. We didn't even get to eat our meals in the restaurant. we had no salt and pepper no butter at our room. When I pay $26 to eat in a restaurant I expect to eat it in the restaurant not sitting on a bed in my hotel room. I was so angry that I vowed I will never step foot in that restaurant again or the Brunswick Lounge. You have just lost a repeat customer that has been going there for many years and telling all her friends about it. Now I will tell all my friends not to go there. I had breakfast at the Sunset Bar & Grill yesterday and it was their first day serving breakfast. The food was beyond amazing!!! I highly recommend trying the french toast!! It was the best french toast that I have ever had!! I actually got a combo meal that came with French toast, your choice of eggs, sausage or bacon, potato's, toast, and fruit. It was all so delicious!! And great portions for the price!

The entire atmosphere was so relaxed, happy, and welcoming. There's dining both inside and out with fans running to help keep you cool even on the hottest day. And the owner and staff are all amazing!! They're all beyond helpful, courteous, and have such a light happy energy about them!! The service is some of the best that I've seen! I literally can't say enough good things about this place! I highly recommend checking them out if you're in OOB!
