Old Orchard Pier — Attraction in Old Orchard Beach

I went to Mike's Fried Dough with Fruit Toppings and bought a cotton candy slushee. Instead, I got an earful from the most hostile employee I’ve ever met. Let’s call her Ms. Rage.

I order my slushee, my boyfriend pays and grabs something else, and we’re set. Then the employee returns and says the cotton candy machine’s not ready, and asked if I wanted another flavor. No big deal, I just wanted the cotton candy one. I say, “Can I get a refund?” Enter Ms. Rage, who takes this as a personal insult. She snaps at me, asking again if I want another flavor, like I’m too stupid to understand what I was already asked. I repeat, “No, just the refund.”

That’s when it gets ugly. She starts yelling at her employee for using a card for “just a slushee,” ignoring that we bought multiple items. My boyfriend and I try to clear things up for the sake of the employee, but that just turns her wrath on us. She’s arguing that I “should know what I want before I order.” I knew what I wanted, but the machine doesn’t work. I say this, but she’s not listening. She accuses me of trying to scam her for cash, like I’m desperate for a $5 bill to avoid ATM fees. I had $60 in my wallet. I just wanted the dadgum cotton candy slushee.

I gave up. She’s berating her employee, arguing at us, and my boyfriend is trying to leave. If this woman’s got the energy to go off on her staff and customers, she needs a new job or a serious attitude adjustment. The employee deserves better. Mike’s, your /slushees might be okay (If I could try them one day), but your service is a disaster. One star, and I’m being kind.

We went to top of pier for a show last night. We go there every year and always great. Last night service was the worse. The bartender/server never put our food order in. After 1 hour the manager came over too apologize and stated we would be comped on our bills. Food comes for everyone but me, I had ordered steamers. I let them know, needless to say my food never came. The manager came up to speak with server regarding our bill, he would not even come over to our table to apologize or anything. At the end of night server never brought our bills, she was afraid to come over per the lacky she sent to our table. I informed him I will not pay for anything since I never received my food. Another person in our party had burnt fried clams and burnt onion rings she wanted to send those back, no one ever came over to take care of this. We told server we will not be paying for her food. Would be a 5 star but the mean old lady at Mike's Fried Dough yelled at us for sitting down to eat while browsing their menu. It's not like it was so packed that there were no seats, and we were going to order drinks from them before they yelled at us. I will not be doing business with them ever again, even though we do every year. Should be a little nicer to people, that was totally ignorant to kick me, my wife, and my kid off of a table, that is just ridiculous. To top it off, went here for a second time on the Fourth of July, and the medical marijuana shop that's right on the main strip, which can't be found online when searching apparently, is ripping people off giving them misinformation about their products. Bought what was told and sold to me as a 3 gram THC vape, turned out to be just 1 gram in the end and only lasted a couple days, paid 50 bucks for it!
