I had high hopes for this place, especially after reading so many glowing reviews. As a group of out-of-towners visiting from Georgia, we were genuinely excited for what we thought would be a memorable dining experience in Connecticut. Unfortunately, what we got was anything but. I ordered the seafood bake, and to say I was shocked would be an understatement. The dish was topped with what looked like crushed Goldfish crackers — something I’ve never encountered at any restaurant, let alone one that positions itself as Italian. The seafood was bland, under-seasoned, and felt like it was thrown together with no care or finesse. For a $30 entrée, I expected quality and attention to detail — not something that resembled a poorly made casserole. To make matters worse, the restaurant was out of shrimp — a key ingredient in many of their seafood-based dishes. How does a seafood-focused Italian restaurant run out of shrimp? That was a major red flag. The pasta that accompanied my dish came with a so-called wine sauce that was absolutely terrible. It tasted like a store-bought jar of generic sauce — flat, acidic, and completely lacking the depth and richness you’d expect from a proper Italian kitchen. We also ordered a pizza, hoping it might redeem the meal, but that was another disappointment. It arrived limp and soggy, with none of the crispness or texture you want from a well-made pizza. It’s incredibly frustrating when a restaurant fails to live up to its reputation, and in this case, the disappointment was significant. I wouldn’t return, and I certainly wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone looking for quality seafood or...
Read moreMy Granddaughter and I ordered take out, we ordered the clam strip dinner and meatball grinder. Well let me tell you about the clam strip dinner, mmm mmm good! Delicious and plentiful!! Onion rings, french fries and tender sweet, crispy fried clam strips and a great amount! Absolutely delicious, and the meatball grinder was so good too the meatballs were sliced thick and the sauce had alittle kick to it which was different and nice. Overall the dinner was very well enjoyed!! And for a treat we got some oversized cookies at the register they had displayed nicely. One was a chocolate lovers dream very soft chewy with a fudgey middle with a lighthouse made out of white chocolate placed in the middle, a chocolate chip cookie and almond tasting cookie that was so devine! All the cookies were so tasty!! Definitely a decision we made getting dinner there a the Pizza Palace! And let me add everyone there was so nice, friendly and personable. Happy...
Read moreSo im from NJ so maybe it is what it is, but I ordered pizzas and a cpl other items from here for the first time. I visit here the last cpl yrs as my friend has a beach house here. So i ordered the deal where you buy 3 pizzas and get the 4th free I made it a point to get large pies, because I was feeding 6 kids and 5 adults. I assumed that would be more than enough. When I received the order I was shocked to learn that a large pie in this establishment is a small pie everywhere else Ive ever ordered a pie from before except Dominos which I never made a habit about. I was so disappointed that they can charge $14 + for a small pie and look into your face and say this is a large. I will never spend my money at this pizza place again and would recommend that they consider making the pizzas the right size. The small pies went fast and I had to leave again to pick up more food being that everyone was...
