I really don't understand so many positive reviews of this place.
My family was on a long trip and decided to stop by this place for a good pho since we saw the reviews. First we ordered at the bar before finding our own seats, dining room was cold we finished our meal with our jackets on. There were no table clothes as we saw the pictures on the reviews just uncovered dirty black table. Ordered spring rolls and fried calamari. Spring roll came out in 6 pieces size of a thumbnail and the calamari was overcooked and tasted more like tough dried squid. Vegetables that came out with both appetizers were not fresh. Both appetizers came out in aluminum take-out containers.
Now our pho we ordered 2 large and 1 small the portion was a joke. I've never had such small portion in a vietnamese restaurant (and I've been to so many viet restaurants) I could've skipped on the portion issue but on top of that it was bland and tasteless. Along with the Pho the Hoisin sauce also came out in a clear take-out containers (are you guys just too lazy to do the dishes?)
Overall it was the worst vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. Taste, portion, atmosphere, service, none of it matched up to the price and quality of the dishes. I honestly never give less than 20% tip. Tonight my bill was $63.05 and I left with $65 on the table and even that was just too much for what we got.
Don't be fooled by the positive reviews. Pay a little more attention to the low rate reviews especially for this place and you'll save yourself from a bad...
Read moreThe property is in an older colonial home which could use a facelift. The decor is a collection of assorted Asian reproduction artwork. The music was a nice a mix of French bistro & Spanish guitar instrumental. The interior restaurant & ambiance is pretty bare bottoms. It’s counter service. They do not have table waitstaff. You basically order at the front counter & then go into the dining room and they deliver it to your table. You have to go to their cooler & grab your drinks & don't offer glasses. They use very thin styrofoam plates, plastic forks & knives for dining in. The tables are mostly 2 tops with faux wood Formica surfaces & wood banquet chairs. No table cloths. There is a table in the corner if you want Siricha, additional plastic plates, cutlery, chopsticks & napkins. The place is a bit older. It reminded me of a very early American tavern. The plus side is this place serves authentic and solid Vietnamese & Thai food & the menus offers a nice varied selection. The menu items, however, I found to be somewhat pricey compared for the portion size. It’s still very good Asian food however. I highly recommend takeout bc the dining experience is...
