Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Oldsmar

Honestly this is the worst tropical smoothie I have ever been to. The two teenagers working are slow and incompetent. The girl working the cash register was on her phone when I walked in and didn’t even acknowledge me when I was standing directly in front of her ready to order. The guy working in the back cooking the food is absolutely horrendous at making the food. The lettuce, beans and rice were old. He made something that wasn’t even on the menu and definitely not what I ordered and served it to me. He also ripped the wrap part of the way in half, making it almost impossible to eat. Same guy also forgot to give me the salsa that comes with the meal that I ordered and when I asked for it from him I had to ask him 3 times because he asked me to repeat myself since he couldn’t hear me over his AirPods. He repeated said “huh?” At me and then he went in the back to get the salsa for me and was gone for way too long to be normal and came back with some yellow/green mayonnaise/ herb dressing looking sauce…. Definitely not salsa or anything I’d be willing to eat...

Look, I'm a huge believer that the service and atmosphere can make or break a restaurant. Greet me as I walk into the door. Literally 5-6 people came in while we were here and not a single greeting. No one spoke. Speak loud enough and enunciate your words while taking orders. Know food safety. Know your menu. Take the earbuds out of your ear. Smile and create a good vibe or place to be. Seriously if you are management, actually no, management is probably one of the kids. So if you are the owner of this location secret shop this location over the course of 2 weeks and you'll see exactly what paying customers see.

My only compliments are that the smoothie came out decent and that the staff brought it to me instead of having me pick it up from the counter like most tropical smoothies. However my wrap was placed on the counter and no name was called. No thank you, come back soon, no have a great day nothing.

I ordered the Baja chicken bowl, it was not good. It was the smallest portion of food I’ve ever seen and I paid $9 for this bowl. There was no salsa in it, the chicken was cold and had no flavor at all, and frankly the bowl didn’t taste like anything except the pickled onions. And the avocado wasn’t mashed it was one big hard lump of avocado that wasn’t ready to be served. Lastly, which isn’t as big of a deal, the chips they had listed online were not the right ones that were brought to me, I would have ordered different ones if it was listed correctly, what they sent wasn’t even on the menu. My friends have always had a problem whenever they order here but still continue to try and give them the benefit of the doubt, I will not waste my money here again. Nine dollars for that terrible small bowl is very frustrating, could have gotten something way better for lunch and spent way less money. Very...
