This was my first visit to this location, my normal go-to is the one on Fowler, so I came in with high expectations. :)
Our server was wonderful and super helpful, attentive to me and my family's needs once we had all arrived and were seated. I really loved that this location offers some different dishes on the menu as opposed to the other location, it changes up the experience a bit. (why yes, I am definitely eyeballing those stuffed calamari when I return.)
Now I came in with high expectations because I'm always treated right at the Fowler location, so I was comparing the two experiences a lot. My boyfriend was delighted that they offer pig feet/bone and blood chunks that can be added to the soups. My beef salad was cooked great and tasted great as always, with just the right amount of sweetness in the sauce and the meat being super soft. The biggest bummer for me was that I always love to order a side of fried rice instead of plain rice with my beef salad, however this location was not so accommodating. I was told the only option I have would have is to order an entire entree of fried rice or no side at all, so that was definitely disappointing as that makes up for half my meal experience. The prices are also a bit higher here.
The shrimp appetizer is tasty, sitting in a sweet n sour type sauce with mayo over the top. It's great for something small and quick, but I will be sticking to the summer rolls primarily.
Overall it's worth a try! The place is very spacious and clean. Nicely decorated. I still prefer the other location, but there are some other items on this menu I believe are worth trying out when...
Read moreThis is the second or this time I've been quoted incorrect times for picking up food. Told 15 minutes and waited for 1 hour and 3 minutes for a Chicken Phở. It wasn't just me, there were 6 other very disappointed people waiting a very long time for orders. No updates. Just chaos all-around. People were filing in for dinner, people didn't know who was waiting for a table, who was waiting for food, who paid, who didn't - it was chaotic. This was such a disappointment. Inadequate staffing. Clearly a kitchen that was unable to meet with, what I would estimate to be, a fairly routine demand.
People's time is valuable and when restaurants treat it as if it's not, that's a statement that they really don't value their customers either. Had they stated the wait would be one hour - okay! Yeah, the customer might be disappointed it was going to be an hour wait, but be honest and hold to your word. If your product is great, people will absolutely wait and hour and negotiate their pick-up accordingly.
Lastly, in the haste to get it out the door, sensing everyone's frustrations, the lid wasn't closed all the way, so 1/4 of it was at the bottom of the bag by the time I finally got home. A...
Read moreThis was my first time to visit Tampa and we wanted some Pho, our traditional dish, after a long day in Universal. This restaurant popped up as a recommend with good reviews. I came and order 4 dishes: special Pho (Phở Đặc Biệt), stewed beefs (bò lụi), shrimp and pork soup (soup tôm thịt), and salt toasted squid (mực rang mặn), honestly, all of these were great. -The Pho was good with a sweet and tasty broth. -The stewed beefs were perfect with a soft texture of the meat, and the spring roll (gỏi cuốn) sauce. -The shrimp and pork soup was really really good because the sweet broth has clear color (I believe they cooked really carefully with pork bones or just only vegetable for many hours) which contains fresh vegetable (carrot, pea, cabbage, and broccoli), some shrimps, and pork meat inside the dish. -The salt toasted squid was crispy and great as well, it came with sweet and sour sauce, and a bowl of rice (I am not sure because I called many thing xD). Because I was so full then I had to bring this dish back hotel for late dinner. One more good point I want to share is the staffs were nice and they always took care of our table. I highly recommend this...
