I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I wanted to like it but there were many issues. It started off good, we were asked if we wanted the buffetand we said yes because that's what's printed outside above the door that lured us there. They were quite busy, people cleaning and delivering nonstop and working quite hard the entire time. So this was definitely a showcase for how they do under pressure. We placed our first order which was basically a full order, so appetizers, salad, soup and sushi, water and bobas (were used to non buffet style eating).
A short wait, not super long but not fast, and a person comes by with a boat, I look at it searching for my food.... After a bit I realize it's not really what we ordered and he came back asked if that's what we ordered and I said nope, he took it to the table next to us.
Then 5m and our soups come and bobas and then water. A other 5m and we get a boat with what looks like some of the items we ordered. But I start looking for one or two items and I don't see them. I also didnt get the salad. Anyway, not wanting to waste and it being mostly food we like and what we ordered we started to eat. Finished most all of it but the wife and kid only ate like half of their stuff..so I ate their food too. The picture here, the roll closest to the camera on the boat was the bad one with the peanutty looking sauce on it. (Not peanut sauce..) The fried veggies my wife order she ate maybe 3/4 of. We ate basically the entire boat excpet 8 bites about. Anyway, wishing I had more meat than rice at that point I ordered an ice cream for the kid and short ribs for the wife and a sashimi for myself. Then they brought the bill, which is fine, we were nearly done. I then specifically googled nigiri vs sashimi because I just wanted meat.. out came a salmon on rice(nigiri)...I waited to pay until we got my wife and kids food, as my wife became suspicious they may stop delivering to us if I pay. We finished all that and then I ordered 2 nigiri salmon, because I wanted some meat and apparently sashimi wasn't just meat according to these guys. We wait for like 15 minutes, the waiter says it's coming...I figure since he said it's coming i suppose I can pay. The more Asian looking lady came over to take the bill. We sat for a while more, still no delivery. My wife asked me what time we should leave and I waited another 5 and left.
For $95... I could get better service, the food I actually ordered, better food, and better atmosphere. I see no reason to return.
If I do come back I won't get the buffet, that's definitely not a good idea. Nothing from the menu was special, normal/ get anywhere sushi. If you come here, maybe just order the food you want... Because the buffet is a gamble.
If I were to pick something unique I tasted here, memorable and positive I'd say the salmon nigiri I "received" was good, the salmon skin roll was decent, the milk bobas were on par, the miso didn't have tofu chunks and the seaweed was tiny amounts probably just packet miso. The short ribs were good.
The negatives were: wrong items, missing items, failure to deliver items before and after payment, one roll tasted not so good and nobody wanted to eat it. Price to value I'd rather eat at other non buffet sushi places.
This is a solid...
Read moreHORRIBLE! DO NOT EAT HERE! I took my 6-year old grandson and his 7-year old cousin with me for dinner. We chose the all-you-can-eat option. I ordered some rolls for the boys. There were parts that they didn't like, and they picked out the cucumbers and avocados. I put the things they picked out into a small bowl and put it at the edge of the table to be taken away. A server came by and pointed at the bowl, shaking his head and said you're wasting food. I said they're children, and there were parts they didn't like, but they ate the rest. He said it doesn't matter, you're still wasting food and I'm gonna have to go find out how much you owe. He was unkind and condescending. I ordered more food, things other than sushi rolls that I thought the boys would like. They ate a lot of it, but got full. So with the threat over my head of having to pay for more wasted food, I asked for a box. A server brought the box and said there's a $5 charge for the box. I said okay, I don't need the box, I'll just throw the food in my purse. She said no, you paid for all you can eat, it doesn't mean you get to take it with you. I said okay, so how much is it if I don't take the food. She said, oh, you mean because of the wasted food policy? Yes. Mmmm, probably like $3. My grandson said he wanted to eat the left over chicken later so I paid the $5. But the bowl of cucumbers and avocados I wrapped in napkins and put in my purse. The food was...
Read moreThe food there is so bland! I've read a review said that it is similar to Tokyo Sushi which we had a good experience a while back so we decide to try it out. I personally prefer light salt or sugar. I can't believe that there is a place could make me complaint about how tasteless their food are. Most sushi are packed with too much green veggies! California roll that barely have any imitation crab. Nigiri couldn't hold to rice at all! I recommended Hyvee's Sushi over this place. The Ice cream taste cheap! Beef Udon is the only one tasted all right but I 'm not sure if those meat are beef? The worst one I would say is the Curry beef! This is one time...
