This is one of the best bars in Omaha even if you aren't there for the arcade games. In Little Bohemia, a short walk from the Old Market, the location is just far off the beaten path enough that parking isn't an issue, but close enough to incorporate into an Old Market outing.
The games are fairly well maintained. Issues are usually quickly addressed. Many of the bartenders know how to do basic work on the machines and fix minor problems on the spot. Honestly, it's hard to find pinballs more well-maintained than these in Omaha.
Games are 25 to 50 cents. Occasionally a newer pinball game or something like that will be set up for $1 a play. During Happy Hour, each drink is served with a side of four quarters. There are also change machines on site.
Huge rotating selection of beers on tap -- see their website for a current list. Many local/regional breweries are represented.
Roomy inside and seldom too crowded. Plenty of games to go around. The bartenders are good at keeping up with big weekend crowds.
Fenced-in patio outside where you can bring your drink. Sometimes, on nicer days, they also open the large overhead doors at the front of the building, allowing a nice breeze through.
You can bring outside food in here, and eat at one of the large tables or booths provided. Plenty of seating -- never seen it all fill up.
No jukebox, but the bartenders will queue up your request.
Love the general atmosphere, feels super cozy but also open and airy at the same time. Not too big and not too small.
This is a great place to bring kids on a lazy weekday afternoon. They allow accompanied minors until 7pm and the environment is typically family-friendly during these slower hours. The place is just barely small enough that you can more or less let your (well-behaved) kids wander around and play games while you keep an eye on them from a centrally located seat.
I prefer this location to the Benson Beercade -- especially since the Benson location stopped opening the basement on weekends and now reserves it only for...
Read moreWhen I got there, it's a nice, open space with plenty of lightning, plenty of beer choices, and good video games that hallmarks back to my day when they first came out. These are the only good things I have to say about this place.
Staff seemed friendly, but as the night went on, more people arrived, you could tell they were very rushed and getting frustrated. While it's true the space is bigger than the original place, it's just not big enough; they seriously underpinned how much space they need. When the place finally got busy, there wasn't enough space to sit down to relax once you've been through some games. The wait at the bar shouldn't be 15 minutes to get a drink, they need more staff in the evening get those drinks pumping out and have more satisfied customers. They also need additional staff to go around the bar, make the tables somewhat tidy, check for spills. Their shots were correctly made, but the ones that needed to be chilled, they were not, just mediocre at best. Finally, it took 3 days for my credit card to reflect charges, that is absolutely unacceptable in this day and age.
So if you want to experience this, then this will be a perfect spot for you, but if not, I wouldn't go there, but maybe on the weekdays and early evening hours on the weekends when it's...
Read morePretty awesome place with fun and friendly clientele and bartenders. Feel very welcome and like one big group of friends at this place....even on a Saturday night and no one knows anyone. Service was prompt and they have a pretty good selection of beer to choose from and a standard liquor selection. There were a lot of games to chose from, many I had never heard of or seen. But it was still fun and challenging to learn and try them out. The atmosphere was chill and relaxed and the tiled logo behind the bar and Zelda figures on the bathroom walls were impressive. How clever and creative! I had a lot of fun, but next time I will bring some hand sanitizer or wipes. Some of the games felt sticky or just the thought of thousands of other people touching them made me cringe a bit. But I am a bit of a germaphob, so don't let...
