Understanding its a new place and all the kinks have to be worked out within restaurant flow.
If you’re looking for a spot on 13th Street in Omaha that knows how to do cocktails and Mexican food right, Masa Luna is the place. The Paloma and margaritas were an excellent start to the nightbright, balanced, and refreshing. The habanero Paloma, in particular, was a standout: a little kick, but smooth and well-balanced so the spice never overpowered the drink.
The food didn’t disappoint either. The blue corn quesadillas were fantastic rich, cheesy, and packed with flavor. But the appetizer that stole the show was the chorizo pierogis. Absolutely to die for. Unique, hearty, and something you won’t find anywhere else.
Their salsas deserve a shoutout too. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The queso was creamy and delicious, especially when mixed with the Mama sauce and spiced salsa, which added layers of flavor without being overwhelming. All of this paired perfectly with their house-made chips, which were crisp and addictive.
The street tacos were another win well-balanced with great flavor. And the enchiladas? Killer. Instead of the traditional rolled style, they had more of a flat, lasagna-like presentation. It was a bold take, and it worked beautifully rich, layered, and absolutely delicious.
Masa Luna feels like a spot where the experience matters, from the cocktails to the salsas to the way they reimagine classics. Definitely worth a visit for well balanced and flavorful food!

Read moreWe stopped in on a weeknight w/ a group of 3 of us and had such a smooth experience. The QR system worked great! One of us used it to pay and didn’t run into any issues.
Our server was super friendly and easy to talk to. Honestly, everyone there made the space feel really comfortable(very inclusive vibeee) He asked if we had been there before, but it honeslty felt like he just wanted to help us get more confortable w/ the menu. Sooo kind! After we ordered, the food came out at a good pace and he checked on us w/o being overbearing.
I had the veggie tamales and really liked them. The texture was good and the flavors were more interesting than I expected. One of my friends got the pork tamales and enjoyed those too(even though I'm vegan, the smell was VERY tempting).
The vibe was relaxed, much better than a lot of the bars in downtown Omaha. Music wasn't too loud, lighting was cozy modern, the bar area felt comfortable, and the staff seemed like they actually wanted people to enjoy their time.
Overall, it felt like such a thoughtful and well-run spot. We’ll totally be...
Read moreFirst off, I actually really liked the indoor vibe. It was cozy, not stuffy at all when we came. Maybe the weather helped? The patio looked so nice too, but we chose to sit inside and had zero regrets. Ordering through the QR code worked perfectly. I kind of prefer that setup since we didn’t have to wait around to get our check or flag anyone down.
Bathrooms were stocked and clean. We didn’t have any issues. Staff was lowkey but friendly. Our server didn’t hover but still came by to help us figure out a drink pairing.
Still a newer spot, but you can tell they care. The music was on point and the crowd was chill.
Much better than expected, will...
