This review will pertain to my most recent visit to this location, on the 15th of July, 2019. I went in around 4pm, breaking my own rule of "eating during busy hours". And this experience was a prime example as to why I have that rule. A lot of the food I chose seemed to have been sitting out for longer than it should. I had white rice, sesame chicken, fried rice, broccoli beef, egg drop soup, sweet and sour chicken, an egg roll, a crab rangoon, and sweet and sour sauce to dip the last 3 items in.
I will go over each individual item and compare them to the typical quality I receive at this location.
White rice- alright, slightly less than warm. This is normal for this location.
Sesame chicken- extremely odd texture, a little unappetizing, but at least warm. Better than usual, still.
Fried rice- big disappointment. The rice seemed like it came from a box of Uncle Ben's. It was pretty dry, but the vegetables were alright. Way worse than usual, did not get 2nd's like I often do.
Broccoli beef- actually a lot better than usual. One of the only "good" experiences I had on this visit. Normally cold with underdone broccoli, but it was nice and warm. I enjoyed eating this with my white rice.
Egg drop soup- this is what I normally look forward to, aside from the fried rice, and thankfully it did not disappoint. This was probably the best Egg drop soup I've had from this place, and that's saying something. Definitely the best item I had on this visit.
Sweet and sour chicken- very cold, extremely unappetizing. By the time I finished it (near the end of my 2nd plate), I was ready to leave, not even wanting to think about getting a 3rd plate. Worse than usual.
Egg roll- also cold, but it was alright in the sweet and sour sauce. Worse than usual.
Crab rangoon- cold, and the stuffing that oozed out of the top seemed to have crusted slightly by the time I got one. This was the worst, visually, I didn't even finish it. This was what I meant when I said stuff seemed to have sit out longer than it should. Way worse that usual.
Sweet and sour sauce- very warm and tasty, made what would have been an unbearable 2nd plate, alright. Better than usual.
I've never worked at a buffet, and I don't eat at them often enough to see common practices when it comes to replacing older food, but this seemed utterly ridiculous. I highly recommend replacing stuff more often.
Service, however, is the thing keeping this from being a 1/5 (and to be honest, if I could give a 2.5 star, I would). Everyone was pleasant, and looked busy, despite it not being a busy time. I will say, though, that keeping busy and doing what you should do is not the same thing. If at least one more person was checking the food more often, this could have possibly been a much better experience for me. Despite the quality of most of the food, I still tipped nearly $5 for my $11 meal. That's another thing. The quality of the food did not seem to match the price. I realize I went at a bad time, but the "bad time" shouldn't be THIS bad.
I will most likely look to eat at other buffets from now on, unfortunately. Hopefully China Buffet can improve, but for...
Read moreRecently visited this place with my family on a none busy afternoon. The carpet floor is still sticky as before and the tables seem to be wiped down with dirty rags. There's lots of sticky streaks all over the table.
They don't enforce parents to watch their kids either as they have a sign asking parents to mind their kids. I watched as 3 kids about 7 to 9 years old grabbed fruits (cantaloupe) with their bare hands and decided they didn't want it anymore... placed them back on the tray. There was a worker cleaning near by. I mention it to her and she nodded as if she understood.
She walked over and shift the fruit tray around to make it look tidy. I thought she was going to take it away cause I was waiting to get some fruits for my kids.
Maybe it's because she doesn't speak a word of English? I can't communicate with her in Spanish either... so I talked to the front desk to have them replaced the fruit tray. The owner walked by and asked me what happened. I explained to him and he asked which kids. I pointed to the table where the kids are seated at. He just shake his head and walked away.
The workers took the tray of cantaloupe to the back and there was a commotion at the entrance to the kitchen regarding the fruit tray. They made a quick walk to the back and came out quickly with another one. I doubt it's even replaced at this point.
We've decided to get ice cream for the kids instead and finish up. Won't take my...
Read moreThis at one point used to be one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. However after yesterday’s experience, we won’t be returning again. To start with, we were seated in a packed busy section with sticky tables of which we had to move to another table and it was the same. We also requested a booth and 3 were open but not clean. Also keep in mind this was at 3pm and apparently they only had one server available. So the GM, Host, 3 bus boys and 2 servers in the back corner of the restaurant were apparently too busy to drinking coffee and listening to their AirPods to help her out. Food was dry and chicken was fatty and cheap cuts. Egg rolls, crab Rangoon had been sitting longer than the silverware by the buffet line. Nothing looked fresh, beside what you wanted cooked if you had then cook it on the flattop(which we probably should have done). Green beans were yellow colored instead of green. Server was busy and doing what she could, clearing plates and refills with her co-workers standing around watching and looking at their phones. The attitude all around in the restaurant was lack luster and no care for customers at all. Food was terrible at best and the Soup was the highlight of our meal. To top it off, while leaving went to the men’s restaurant and couldn’t go to the bathroom due to urine soaked floors and smell. Do yourself a favor and run as far away from this restaurant as you can. I...
