I’ve been a loyal customer of D’Leon’s since they opened—drawn in by the quality food and friendly service. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the Center Street location has gone downhill so drastically that I can no longer remain silent.
last Tuesday I stopped by after work for Super Nachos and asked if pork could be added. After a brief pause, the woman on the speaker replied with an exaggerated and disrespectful “WHAT?!” I pulled up to the window, where the cashier (Elena R) confirmed my order with visible annoyance. I repeated my request, handed over my card, and then overheard her, through the headset, mock me in Spanish—calling me a “pinche pendejo in the drive-through.” What she didn’t realize is that I speak Spanish.
She and her coworkers laughed, clearly thinking their comments wouldn’t be understood. When she turned back around and saw me watching, her demeanor quickly shifted—she walked off, returned with my card, didn’t bother with a receipt, and coldly asked if I needed anything else. I didn’t.
The food was inedible. After a few bites, I tossed it—quality like that doesn’t even deserve a second chance. (See attached photos.)
The behavior I witnessed wasn’t just unprofessional—it was outright malicious and culturally offensive. Whether this is how Elena R normally conducts herself or it reflects a broader culture at this location, it’s unacceptable.
My advice? Avoid this place. The service is nonexistent, the food quality has collapsed, and the lack of basic respect for customers is appalling. I never thought I’d have to say this about a place I used to recommend,...
Read moreThe food is good but (some) of the service is bad. Last night I ordered a shrimp and crab burrito that was about $11 and I ordered one birra taco that was a little less than $5. So you can imagine my surprise when I pull up to the drive-thru and the lady says $27. I tell her that I just ordered one Burrito on one taco and she tells me that they don't sell one taco. So I say okay I'll just have the burrito, because the menu at the drive-thru it says birra taco $4.26. So she goes to give me back my change and I tell her she can keep it, and she ends up throwing some of it on the ground. So I pulled around back to the drive-thru menu to take a picture of the taco that says it's about $4.26 and then I go inside and I show her the picture. She says that she, doesn't know anything about that. I tell her, if you guys don't sell this, maybe you should cover it up so people don't order it. Her attitude was so unprofessional that I just asked for my money back for the burrito. Usually the service is good and all the other staff are polite, but this lady needs to either be fired or kept away from the customers because her customer service...
Read moreTonight the food was incredible. 11 out of 10. Not much else to say.
Got the fire Cheeto burrito with carne and a side of potatoes locos and got the orange sauce. The cook tonight had the hands of an angel and the mind of an artist. When I opened the burrito to stuff it with those potatoes locos I couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the burrito. It was like looking into the face of God. Each bite led me wanting more and before I knew it the burrito was gone. It was a tragedy, all good things must come to end, and I wish I had another...but I'll be back tomorrow for lunch.
Edit: 2/15/2025 Food is still fire and I visit often. Pro tip from a regular is to grow a pair and eat inside. Experience life and enjoy the hot sauce and condiment bar they have available. The food is incredible and with unlimited sauce options the sky...
