Review 10/04/2020 - 1. Cashier ?Estren/?Alex said steak tacos are $2.50 each by phone (so I ordered 4 Steak Tacos), when I got there he said they were $3.68 each since I questioned bill (so instead of paying $10.70, I paid $13.10; 2. When I entered restaurant to go pay (he was busy with papers) Estren did a Get Away Hand Move & told me to just sit down on the benches in lobby; 3. A few seconds later another man went to pay & he immidiately took his payment; *4. After they left he called me up to pay; I told him I'd like green sauce with the tacos and instead he brought me an orange watery (awkward looking & tasting sauce) & a watery red sauce (no taste) (he said they were out of green sauce but that 1 of the sauces in the bag is new; I went with it hoping everything (food, sauces would be deliciously authentically mexican flavored) since I needed to get home to watch the news; *5. When I got home to eat the food I ordered, the tortillas were cold, dry & cracked, the meat wasn't that flavory like it was suppose to be, both sauces he gave me were 85% watery with a awkwardly vague taste (very disappointed).
You're (the customer) actually taking a chance everytime you go to Guacamaya restaurant because you never know what kind of Customer Service you'll be getting that day. You'll never know whether the food you're going to order is going to be good like its suppose to be (whether it be a plate or the buffet) or if it's going to be discusting with no flavor & awkward food pieces like mine was again (I've gone their a few other times and the food was also yuuuucky like it was on 10/04/2020).
I had to eat something sweet afterwords to try to take away that yucccky funny taco flavor that it left in my mouth.
Right as I started eating the food, I kept on thinking to myself that I should of just bought me some really good & authentic flavored food either at Great Dragon (95th Q St which I passed, Taqueria Tijuana or El Dorado (pass them on my way home on 24th Q) or gone a little out of my way to Dos de Oros. * Those restaurants always have good food. You'll never have to guess whether you're food is going to be good or not while you're ordering it like you do when you go to Guacamaya Restaurant.
Review 1 year ago - The restaurant is really authentic in the inside. The mexucan food, whether you order a plate or the Buffett, doesn't have very much of an authentic nor spicy flavor like it use to anymore.

Read moreWe went here for dinner last night. Usually we go here for their lunch buffet, but decided to order off the menu last night. Their menu is odd. They don't list what kind of tacos you can get. Prices are a little high for a Mexican restaurant. When the waiter came over he informed us there was a taco Tuesday special of all you can eat tacos for 10$ so we decided to try it because that was the best deal. We tried a variety of tacos and did have to ask the server what meats were available for tacos since there was no list. Each serving consisted of 3 tacos. We tried chicken, asada, carnitas, al pastor between the two of us. The clear favorites were asada and carnitas. The chicken was shredded but watery and bland. The am pastor had a strange bitter flavor and we didn't detect any pineapple at all. Carnitas and asada were both flavorful. At first the server asked us what type of tortillas we wanted and we both said corn. He then asked if we wanted hard or soft and we said soft. He brought us American style tacos with flour tortillas that had lettuce cheese and tomatoes instead if Mexican style with corn and onions cilantro and lime. That is the only reason this wasn't 5 stars. He apologized and said he assumed we wanted American style tacos. He fixed his error and brought the correct tacos. We really enjoyed our meal and left stuffed. We will return for taco Tuesday again...
Read moreI walked in with my wife and son and they told me to put on a mask, even though there were 15 people walking around inside with no mask. I declined and told them I would leave. My wife and son went in because my son had Spanish project due and had to eat there for his project. The lady at the front desk was furious that I wouldn’t put on a mask even though I was leaving. After my wife and son had lunch they asked for the check. The total was $32 And change. They charged us for that, and magically another charge showed up for $99.81. It took them 20 minutes to bring my wife’s card back out(which is what tipped her off). She wondered what was going on and checked our account. She noticed the extra charge and mentioned it to the waitress who got very nervous. She said “I’ll call the manager over” five minutes later he came over and said they would take care of it no problem. I came in from waiting outside and asked what was going on. The manager wouldn’t talk to me and my wife had to explain what was going on. They said they would refund the money. They did not. We had to file a claim with our bank who said it was a fraudulent charge. Nice job Guaca maya. You have lost us as customers, and anyone else we talk to. We will make sure to tell them that you stole from us. Was...
