I have ate inside the restaurant and it was great. No problem at all loved my experience. However to go is a way different story and it’s quite sad. The bruschetta was good loved it however it was just leaking all over the bread which then made all of the already soft bread even more soft. Half were so soggy I couldn’t eat it . I also ordered a steak and told her medium rare. She then repeats back to me so a steak medium rare yes? Not quite sure how this lady got stuffed mushroom out of it but apparently she did. And I never ended up with my steak. The stuffed mushroom was not stuffed it was a large mushroom sliced in half with some stuffing and laying in a ton of gravy/soupy mix. It was awful it was soggy and it was just so bad that I did not eat it after the first bite as I was trying to figure out why this was clearly not a steak. It had bread pieces as you can see in the photo just sitting in there randomly. There wasn’t anything to this . Now I wasn’t late picking up my food I was actually early about 10 minutes early and waited which I was fine with that. I was staying at the hotel next door so this good that came to me like this had no reason to even be like that already. I’m mad at myself because yes I should’ve checked it myself but I’m mad also at these people because the to go packaging is clear. And she checked the receipt and the boxes before handing it to me. Just a mess. For bruschetta and the “stuffed mushroom” was a total of 39.00 with a 20% tip.

My husband started with the House Soup and upgraded to a bowl. It has kale, beans, and sausage although he said there were like 3 beans in the whole thing. He liked it well enough. I got a salad, the House Vinaigrette was yummy. He ordered Chicken Parmesan. Said the chicken was good but the noodles were way overdone and everything was soggy with so much sauce. Ended up taking it home to the kids. My plate of Fish & Chips looked good, the fries were crispy and seasoned well. The fish, however, wasn't great. The parts that were crispy were fine but most of it was gummy and chewy 😕. My husband suggested maybe the fryer was overcrowded or something and it didn't cook right. Super bummed. Ended with a Pomegranate and Pear Cocktail which I loved. Anything with pear calls my name. Also took a piece of Carrot Cake to go. I liked the addition of pineapple but it had no nuts and I personally like the contrasting texture. Place was slammed so maybe it was just an off night. There's several other things on the menu I'd like to try. Our server Gage was great and the primary reason I'd give them another chance.

Our family was very disappointed in the whole experience. The good is a disgrace to Omaha. There is no possible way any of the food Is worth being in a restaurant. Jimi D's is hands down a disgrace to any Italian food in Omaha. The space is too small for the amount of tables they have crowded in the dining area. The noise factor is one of the worst we have ever experienced in our travels. The meatballs are greasy and taste like, what I imagine dog food would taste like. Old school TV dinner meatballs taste better than theirs. I chose to try their "old school" Italian sausage and peppers hoagie, it was disgusting. The Italian sausage tasted worse than something that can be bought in a store. The marinara sauce that was with the peppers was sweet and it was a horrible combination with old peppers that really made my stomach turn. It's really simple to prepare and I'm confused at how they messed it up so much.

The only thing giving this review 2 stars is our server, Brad. I would give him a 95% for service. He was very friendly and attentive.

Now, unfortunately, to the negative. I worked in the restaurant business for many years, mainly as a hostess in fine dining, so my review is based on my experience. We walked in and asked to sit on the patio. There was no space which was fine. Hostess 1, whose appearance was beyond lacking as she looked like she was going to a concert with her shredded baggy jeans and rapper t-shirt, asked us if we wanted to sit in the booth in the corner, as she gestured to the back of the restaurant. I asked if we could have a table because we would be needing a high chair. She proceeded to say, "So yeah, the booth in the corner". I expressed again that we needed a table and more specifically stating, not a booth. She walked away with no response and went to go put 2 tables together. The tables she was putting together were right in front of the patio door. We asked to not be seated right in front of the door. She again walked away with no response and began to put 2 different tables together. Hostess 2 came back up to the front and we questioned why they were trying to seat us in front of the patio door. She proceeded to explain about the server sections and about how they can't just put any 2 tables together, which is understandable but didn't explain why we were being seated in front of the patio door when there were plenty of other tables to seat us at. When hostess 1 was done putting the tables together, hostess 2 said that we could go sit... Without showing us to our table. We asked, "So we just seat ourselves..?" and "Well yeah" was her response. After we sat ourselves, hostess 2 approached our server within earshot of our table. She began to explain to him about how difficult we were being and then apologized to him for us being his section. Our server Brad, treated us with great service and attention even though he knew he was getting at least an 18% tip because we had a party of 6 people. Towards the end of our meal, I visited the restroom with one of my kids. On our way, we pasted the host stand where 2 people had entered and were waiting to be seated. Taking my child to the restroom takes at least 5 minutes and on our way back to our table, the same 2 people were still at the front waiting to be seated. I continued to watch to see how long it would take for anyone to acknowledge these people. They stood for about 10 minutes without being greeted and when hostess 2 finally made it back to her post, the people were told to sit wherever. Upon leaving, hostess 2 was behind the host stand playing on her phone. Needless to say, we were ignored on our way out.

The food was okay. It wasn't bad but in no way was it exceptional.

Why do you have a host stand and hostess if people are just told to seat themselves? If you want guests to just seat themselves, then put up a sign that states this. The hostess is the first thing you see when you come in and their demeaner was awful. From a professional stand point, your staff should at least be wearing a Jimi D's shirt so you can assess them from the other guests. All staff members were wearing plain street clothes.

This was a very poor experience and I wish we had taken our business to some place more deserving in the Aksarben area. Needless to say, we will not be rushing back...

We came up for a memorial and the people we were meeting up here called a reservation in for a large group. Now if you have a large group I am not sure I would recommend this place. They did do decent getting the food out to our group, however after the food was out it felt like the waitress could care less about our group after the check was paid. The reuben was great and sweet potato fries were great. My son got the spinach artichoke dip and said it was like eating a block of cream cheese. He replaced it with the salmon pesto. That was not edible at all. We had several people try a small bite and it was the same from everyone. I can make better at home. It was like the salmon was about to turn. However the waitress never came back to the table to address our concerns or to check on my son to see if his meal was more suitable to his liking. Oh look she finally came to the table after 20mins if not longer and after the check has been paid. Well, after telling her the concerns she rolled her eyes at my son. This was the blonde in the red suit. So I hope if you have a large group that you get better service than we did. Oh if I could give 0 stars for service I would. Hopefully this is just an off...
