Very excited to have Lansky's open up in Gretna. Went there tonight. They have been open for 5 days now. Ordered my food and was greeted and given my drink cups. Great service so far. I was told it would be about 45 minutes and seeing the crowd and all the people standing waiting for carry out orders it was very understandable.
Sat at the table and observed as other tables were waiting. One family was waiting prior to us sitting down, after about 45 minutes one of them came over and asked how long we had waited, said about 45 minutes, they said they had been waiting for over an hour and a half. Well after about an hour and a half our pizza arrived. I asked about the appetizer of cheese bread and was told it was still coming. Well embarrassed that our food arrived before the table next to us for one, ate our pizza. Then a table that arrived probably 30 minutes after us received their meal. The table that had been complaining that they had been waiting for an hour and a half prior to us still had not received their meal and obviously asked the waitress "what about our food??!!" The waitress said she'd go find out. Then after about 5 minutes brought some food out to them yet still missing 2 peoples meals. They had had to go back and make the gentleman his personal pizza and that was brought out about 10 minutes later. They should've been given a complete meal on the house after that yet were not given anything except a half felt spoken I'm sorry. I doubt you'll ever see them ever again.
After completing eating my pizza, went to counter and said I would like a refund for the appetizer of cheese bread that was supposedly on its way! They had to look up my order and refunded me, we will see if it shows up on the card or not.
So my observation and recommendation is. They had more than an ample amount of staff. They should've brought Seasoned staff from the current locations in to help work side by side with the new employees. They need to get away from the paper tickets used to fulfill orders or keep them in order. The mistakes made on my ordper and the tables around us were obviously mixing up orders in the queue line. You really need to fix this and fast or you will have many customers never return! Next a manager should have been checking on tables frequently to see how customers were being serviced and if anything could be done to make their experience better. Especially on a opening event! Not once did a manager come by any tables near me. Once again you had plenty of staff to pull this off. If the manager or a supervisor would have been observing the flow and talked to customers they would have immediately noticed a major problem as this was going on the whole time we were there.
I suggest at a minimum training your management on hospitality and flow of how a restaurant works. Also train your staff to check on tables and how to address issues as they arise. If someone had come around and asked if anyone needed anything they could have mitigated some of the anguish. I fully blame this on management and not your staff, this was obviously a lack of training.
I beg of you to please do some training and get your orders in line to ensure that people are getting their meals in a timely and orderly fashion. I am pleased to have another restaurant in our area. I love Lansky's and hope your new location makes it.
Now for the positive, staff was friendly, just need to follow up and follow through. The pizza was very good! Just wish I could've gotten my cheese bread appetizer while I was waiting for our meal.
I will return again at a later date and hope that you've taken this to heart. I will give another review at that time and I hope it is that you've knocked it out of the park! Good luck and remember, sometimes you only get one chance when your dealing in the food business. I imagine some or a lot of tonight's customers won't. Omaha is a tough market, because we have so many Great places to eat so ya gotta go big, and do it right the first time. I hope others feel as I do and give you...
Read moreIt's really sad I have to rate this visit as a 3 because I absolutely love Lansky's and their food. I eat there about twice a month and always get take out but for some reason I called to place an order tonight and it seemed like the girl had no idea what she was doing or what I was trying to order. She put me on hold, then came back on the phone and ask what she could do for me, I told her i needed to place a take order. She said ok, so I gave her my order which is pretty simple, she started asking what type of noodle I wanted but I wasn't even ordering anything with noodles in it. All I was ordering was 2 beer cheese dips with a side a fries and 2 philly steak sandwiches. When I finally saw aid Ms. I'm not getting pasta I need the dip she couldn't even find the button on the screen to place the order. She then said, so what did you want? She said that about 3 times, and couldn't get my order correctly. When I asked to talk to someone else to place my orde, a girl came on and had an attitude. I told the girl that person should not be on the phone if she can't take an order down. She told me she was new, well if she's new I don't think she should be answering the phone if she hasn't been properly trained and then the lady repeated the order and how long wait time was and then hung up with an attitude. It's not my fault the new person isn't properly trained. So sad, to have this type of customer service...
Read moreFirst off I had high hopes for this place as I'm new to Omaha. This place was highly recommended. I am also an East coaster that has been to the original pats and Gino's in Philly. I ordered the giant cheese steak with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions and I added provolone, red hots, and mayo totaling $17. And what I received wasn't even worth $10. First of all the giant arrives in an 8 inch bun way over stuffed. Where's the 12-14 inch sub sub? Secondly the meat was bland like no seasoning at all. The sub had no mayo or red hots that I paid extra for. And all but the last bite didn't even taste like it had cheese on it. The cheese was placed inside sub roll as if they were trying to hide how much they put on even though I paid extra. You're supposed to put the cheese on top while it's still on the grill so it holds all the meat while you're eating it. And every bite has ooey gooey cheese on it. This was more like a Chicago Italian beef without the au jus. This is the second disappointing Philly cheese steak order from Omaha area. I don't see why this area doesn't get how to make a proper cheesteak when even small local pizza shops in the mid Atlantic area (md, DC, va) all seem to get them similar. Needless to say I won't ever be...
