Rose Garden — Restaurant in Omaha

Main entrees took forever to get to us. About 45 minutes. Staff was apologetic. Same thing with all the other patrons around us. The sesame chicken was bland, not cooked long enough as most bites were kinda doughy. Chicken wings were cooked really well, excellent crunch, but not seasoned enough. Staff frequently forgot to bring things like extra napkins when asked. The roast pork Lo Mein was inedible. Bland and the pork was gross, cheap and terrible texture.

We asked for to go containers, and we’re brought styrofoam clamshell style boxes. We asked for the higher quality containers with the lids because our items were very saucy and that would have not travelled well. The guy told us they are only for to-go orders. 🤔 We are paying just as much as to-go orders aren’t we? Super lame to be that cheap. We asked another employee and he obliged. I’ve heard Rose Garden is now owned by the same owners as Three Happiness but the food tastes NOTHING like it does there. Would have gone there but they don’t have the stuff to do dine in. The food is "edible." If you're hungry, it will do. I have no idea why this place has such a high rating here. The beef in the Mongolian beef dish neither looked nor tasted like beef. I can't describe it, but it didn't seem like meat at all. It was very pale. The chicken in Hunan Chicken resembled chicken but seemed like they tenderized it to death. Did not taste like chicken nor did it have the texture of chicken. This is the blandest Hunan Chicken I've ever had. If it weren't for the little bit of spice, it would have no flavor. The crab rangoons were standard for a place with a counter. The Hot and Sour soup has pork in it, which ruins the soup in my opinion. Also, no mushrooms in the soup. Overall, I'm still baffled at the high rating here. People must have no taste buds.

I've been a regular since Rose Garden opened and always enjoyed the wonderful food and owners! Since they changed hands, the food quality and customer service have been discarded. For example I ordered, one of my favorite meals there, Generals Chicken. When I got home and opened the to go box, I found sweet and sour chicken with teriyaki sauce poured over it to change the color of the sweet and sour sauce. They didn't even try to disguise it by adding the peppers. I called immediately and asked if they changed their recipe and they said no. I described what I received and how it differed from what I ordered and asked what they suggested. The manager said "We don't replace meals once delivered and for me to try again soon and hope for better luck." That was the last time I'll ever step foot...
