This restaurant stands out as above average for most Chinese spots, though it doesn't quite reach the level of a top-notch establishment. Pricing is fair, and the value matches what you pay.
The Food (4/5): I had the General Chicken, which was a nice balance of a little spicy and a bit more sweet. It tasted fresh, and the chicken wasn’t dried out. The hot and sour soup, however, was a bit tougher—slightly bitter, but still tasty overall.
The Service (2/5): The service was pretty basic. My server handled everything—hosting, bidding, and all in between. No recommendations were offered; she was straight to the point, asking if I was ready to order. The food came out quickly—maybe a bit too quickly—but considering this wasn’t a high-end restaurant, it wasn't too surprising.
The Atmosphere (1/5): The atmosphere and vibe were definitely the downside of the experience. Read moreThis used to be my go-to place for Chinese food but I hadn't been there for many years. So I was really happy that it hadn't changed much. The restaurant is nice and they also do takeout. A lunch entree is around $8.50 and for that you get soup and 2 crab rangoons in addition to your meal. That's a fantastic deal!! Their menu is extensive and pretty similar to other Chinese restaurants in Omaha in that they have chicken dishes, pork dishes, vegetarian dishes, etc. I highly recommend the hot & sour soup. Their egg rolls are excellent. I always have a chicken dish and have never been disappointed. They are also very nice about substitutions which is helpful. Now that 114th Street is open again, I'll be back here more...
Read moreWhen we came in for lunch on Wednesday it was dark and nobody was around. (Understandable, Wednesday is usually slow for businesses) But soon after Mr. Wong came up to us and guided us to our seats. He was very polite and courteous whenever we had an interaction with him. He kept our waters topped off regularly. When the food came out, it was DELICIOUS. You could tell everything was fresh, the chicken, Rangoons, even the rice appeared to be fresh cooked in one of those circular containers with the rice paddle for serving. My mom and I were very impressed with the freshness, taste and presentation of it all. The prices were reasonable and I even had leftovers!! Would go again, what a great value for...
