Title: A Disappointing Experience at the Grand China Buffet
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
Review:
I recently visited the Grand China Buffet with high hopes of enjoying a delightful dining experience, but unfortunately, my expectations were shattered. I must admit that I was thoroughly disappointed with the overall quality of the food, particularly due to the burnt and flavorless dishes that were served.
From the moment I arrived, it was evident that the food at the Grand China Buffet was not up to par. The buffet selection appeared lackluster and unappealing, with dishes that seemed to have been sitting out for a considerable amount of time. The lack of freshness was evident, and it greatly impacted the taste and overall dining experience.
One of the major letdowns was the Habashi grill. I was excited to indulge in some grilled delicacies, but unfortunately, the reality couldn't have been further from my expectations. The grilled items lacked any distinct flavors and were devoid of the enticing aromas one would expect. It was a truly lackluster and underwhelming experience, leaving me feeling unsatisfied and disappointed.
Furthermore, the food quality was subpar, with numerous dishes appearing overcooked and, in some cases, even burned. The lack of attention to detail and proper cooking techniques was evident, and it was disheartening to see such negligence in a supposedly reputable establishment.
To make matters worse, the lack of flavor throughout my meal was evident. Each dish I tried seemed to be devoid of any distinctive taste, leaving me questioning the authenticity and quality of the ingredients used. It was as if the flavors had been diluted or lost entirely, resulting in an unmemorable and unenjoyable dining experience.
In conclusion, my visit to the Grand China Buffet was nothing short of disappointing. The burned, old, and flavorless food, particularly at the Habashi grill, left me questioning the establishment's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. I would strongly advise potential diners to explore other dining options, as this buffet failed to deliver an enjoyable and satisfying...
Read moreBest chinese food in Omaha honestly... It is so nice inside! Looks like they remodeled after the whole Covid thing. My favorite thing in there is the oyster covered in cheese and white sauce. You can literally taste the ocean with every slurp, and reminds me of home. I know oysters are not for everyone, but for those that like seafood, this is the best. There was this other chinese restaurant that had something similar, but they would place a couple of shrimps instead of the oyster MMMMM YUM! (I miss those so bad...) My second favorite things are the portabella mushrooms filled with cheese, for those who like mushrooms. They got an assortment of sushi! Gotta try them all to see which you like best. The green stuff (guasabi) usually served with the sushi, is an acquired taste (super spicy). I tried a few different kinds of the sushi, mmm yummy. They got amarillitos (sweet fried plantains) and I love them (specially since I grew up eating those in Puerto Rico). The rice flour buns are delish. I like the white one better, it has sweet lemon paste inside, the purple one is less sweet, more like a sweet bean or fig paste, still tastes good. The fried rice and lo mein were lacking a bit on salt and flavor, maybe with some soy sauce it tastes better. The wide noodle pasta with white sauce... I didn't like it. Some ppl might though, I just thought it was Alfredo sauce, but NOPE lol 🤣 Omg the shrimp!!! Soooo goood!! 👍 Idk how they managed to get so much flavor in those. There are so many other delicious things, I didn't have space in my tummy to try it all. The waiter wasn't very talkative, but she kept my glass full and table clean, she deserved the good tip! 😁 I'm pretty sure the menu changes greatly after around 4pm. They used to add crab legs and frog legs (frog legs are kind of like chicken drumsticks but more flavorful and salty) I liked them. Idk if the 4pm menu is still the same or not though. I had a great experience and I...
Read moreI have eaten at the Grand China Buffet for years, but I think that some things are starting to decline. The hostess has been working there too long. She is annoyed every time we go and you need to sprint to follow her to your table. My family goes to this buffet once a week and they act as though they don't recognize us each time. The servers are over burdened and can be very rude or non-existent. The buffet doesn't offer new recipes, it is always the same. Last week, we made the mistake of going on a week day. The restaurant was slow, so the food sat out longer than it should have because the steam tables had overcooked what was out making most of the meat and fried food soggy and gross. The soups both had a gooey crust round the pots and the cold salad, fruit, jello, and cut vegetables looked like leftovers and looked very unappetizing. The ice cream cooler had two empty 5 gallon barrels in it and no one was willing to replace our favorite flavors. Since they took the crab legs off the menu and stopped using the create your own dish option that they cooked to order in front of you, the quality of food had gone down hill. The only positive review I can make about the buffet is that the sushi is very good as long as they don't leave it out all day. I think we are going to be looking for a new weekly dinner spot because $75 for three people including non-alcoholic drinks is far too much to spend for three people to leave hungry. Perhaps staff changes, fresher food, and a new dish from time would restore our enthusiasm to return, but I doubt I will return...
