Went here for Mother's day, wanting to try their Natural Chicken and Feta pizza. We ordered a Large no tomatoes, sub onions. The waitress told us no subs and an up charge, we didn't mind and waited for our food. We ordered house salads that were good, but they had tomatoes, we didn't ask, but the waitress could have confirmed since we asked for them off the pizza. Then came the pizza... covered in Roma tomatoes and almost nothing else. When we asked what happened, she stated she got confused between it and the pesto (I'm allergic to pine nuts, so thank god she didn't put the wrong pizza in too), and we proceeded to pick the tomatoes off, because we were hungry. It was very soggy, and lacked any flavor. My husband, who worked in food service for 10yrs, was very disappointed in the chicken used, as it was sub par. The waitress either was exhausted, or just did not care and came by to bring us the check, and a box, because we had two slices left. Before my husband could ask if we were up-charged for the onions, she walked away. He got up and advised her that she needed to make it right and remove the onion charge (2.50). Not once, but three times did we mentioned the tomatoes and she did not seem to care until he got up to confront her near the til. When she returned, the pizza was completely removed from our bill. We paid and left the box with the left overs, as they removed the pizza from our bill. None of us had not cared for it, but rather were going to eat them on principle of the price based of the $30 price tag. A $50 meal turned into $12, and a $20 was laid down. We are not heartless, we just expect more in a...
Read moreAt the request of the respondant below, I have edited to not compare to any past experience and only base this review on the most recent.
We went in at 5:30 on a Friday night expecting it to be crowded, it was not --but I was glad to be able to get a table. Within 10 minutes we ordered... being Lent, we choose cheese ravoli, pizza and kids pasta. 10 mins later the waitress came back to say no cheese ravioli. I get it there are supply chain issues, out of the kitche's control, so we chose cheese bread instead. 20 mins later nothing had been delivered and we had not seen our waitress since the ravioli incident. But a kitchen staff member cames out to ask for clarity on our pizza (30 mins AFTER we ordered). Then the bread finally comes out via a server, still no waitress. Then we wait... another 25 mins goes by. Still no waitress, a table full of empty drinks and no entrees. We finally go up and flag down our waitress. She goes into kitchen and brings out room temperature and now soggy pizza and cold (not room temp, but "refrigerator cold" pasta). She mumbled an excuse about our ticket being losta and quickly left. We were now 90 mins into this dinner and had to leave, no attempt to by anyone to try and make things right. $75 for meh, at best. I have been absolutelty patient post-pandemic everywhere we go, thankful for staff who are over-worked and under appreciated -- but there was not even an...
Read moreZio's used to be the place to go for excellent pizza when I was a kid. They would run ads with the slogan "you never had it so good." Unfortunately that is not the case anymore.
We ate at Zio's on Friday, September 6th around 8:00 p.m. The resturant was nearly empty except for one other family and a couple of friends of one of the waitresses. The host seating people clearly didn not want to be there. He just threw the menus and some silverware on one of the tables and walked off without saying a word.
Our waitress, Diana, was probably the best part of the experience. She was pleasent, curtious, and made sure we had anything we needed.
We ordered a 5th Avenue Cheeseburger pizza, which took around 20-30 minutes to arrive. Zio's has always had long cook times, so this was not unusual, but this time it was not worth the wait.
The pizza was warm, but was very hard. Silverware was actually bending trying to cut into it. Also, it was very bland. The crust and meat both tasted of nothing. The only flavor on the entire Cheeseburger pizza was from the yellow mustard.
With it already almost being nine, we didn't say anything, finished the pizza, paid the bill and left...
