UnWine'd Wine Bar — Restaurant in Onalaska

We were here three years ago before the pandemic, and had such a lovely time! Well, for date night tonight, we wanted to enjoy an hour here before closing. We just stopped by 13 minutes ago and although they were busy, there were two tables open. The open sign was still on. We sat at the high top for seven minutes, we weren't even greeted. A staff member made eye contact twice, but did not greet us. We looked at the menu and decided what we would have if we were provided service. The bartender looked at another customer and said she would be right with her, but she never said anything to us. Therefore, we felt unwelcomed, and we left. We will not come back. S shame that such a sweet, small, beautiful place lacks customer service. I regret sharing with friends that we should come here more often for date nights and girls' nights. I'll be sure to update them of our most recent experience tonight.

I work in an incredibly busy establishment, and we are also incredibly short-staffed, but while I'm running to finish a task, I still manage to greet anyone near me, especially new faces and tell them we will be right there. I did not mean to slam the door as it swings open very easily from the inside - it wouldn't hurt to maybe put a bit of resistance on the door if you don't want an easily slamming door. I said sorry but of course, you were too far away to even hear or even greet us. If we waited for the 6 people ahead of us to be served, I'm sure it would have been closing time (and who knows how long we would have had to wait to get service if we weren't even told an estimate wait time). Perhaps, turn the open sign to say you're closed if you can't keep up with providing service. Glad everyone else had a great time and great service, as they were all white.

This is a great gem of a place! It has loads of character with its architectural details. It is across from the river which was nice because some of the guests in our party were able to go out and enjoy the sunset and then come back in to Unwined to continue with our event. It could not have been better than that! It has a vault room with comfortable seating. The lower lounge area is great for a larger group, and is very comfortable, and it even has a fireplace which you can enjoy. There is an abundance of quality wines and drinks to choose from, as well as a menu to accompany your drink choices. We chose Unwined for a wedding rehearsal dinner and it was perfect! The owner was very gracious in working with us and we had a great time celebrating the bride and groom. The staff was fantastic and helped us with anything that we needed. It was a pleasure to have a staff that was so helpful and attentive to our event. We truly appreciated the space, the service, and the menu choices for our event. Love that it is little and more personalized than a normal bar. Love that the bartender can tell you about the seasonal drinks, and takes the time to describe what the flavor will be like and if you would love it! Love that they have earrings and wine related items for purchase! Love that the ambiance is warm, chill, and relaxing. Whether you have a fun night planned and it’s a starter, or hey let’s go here after work and chill, it’s a great place either way.
