Brick Shack Pizza — Restaurant in Ontario

My family and I came here as we’ve been driving and haven’t ate all day, so we stopped here thinking, “okay we’ll give it a try.” They told us they were known for their wings so we got the garlic buffalo ones. They offered outdoor dining and the wait wasn’t too bad and they even brought out a water jug and some cups for us. Upon bringing us our pizza we received paper plates and our napkin supply was running dangerously low (we are a family of 7). Our pizza was okay tasting; felt like cardboard on the bottom and it was really hard to tear into and our wings had a lot of cartilage in them and was just down right gut-wrenching. They had no trash cans outside so our trash was blowing all over the place even though we were doing our best to contain it. And finally we go to leave and the door to get back inside is locked and the little flimsy gate that leads to the parking lot is locked. So we’re banging on the door, hoping someone will hear us, but the music was too loud; with no luck we almost broke down the flimsy gate that was keeping us from the parking lot. Still no employees heard us after about 2 minutes of standing outside banging on the door and windows. And then somehow the door just turned and opened with no one on the other side. After all of us stood there trying to open a clearly locked door! Honestly just had a not so best experience here tonight. We ordered our food online and went in when we got a text saying it was ready. My husband went in and asked and they said it wasn’t ready. Okay no big deal but he kept asking and they kept telling him 5 more minutes. We ordered a pizza, salad, pasta and jalapeño poppers. 40 minutes go by at this point and I end up calling them asking why it isn’t ready, when will it be ready and they kept telling me it wasn’t because of items we didn’t even order such as fries and a sandwich. I initially was speaking with a man and he must have put the phone down and someone else o inked it up and tried to put me on hold. Then a woman told me the pizza was ready 30 mins ago and that was why we got a text… so our pizza is ready just sitting out but the others aren’t? My husband told me they were getting calls and a small group was inside but not crazy busy. While on the phone the lady told me it was just handed to my husband by the first man I was speaking to. Just a bad experience with communication and staff. The food was obviously ready and someone wasn’t paying attention to what was going on and just causing a delay. For perspective, this was the day after Xmas. It did not seem very busy. There appeared to be two or three people working.

Long long wait for pizza. Like almost 45 minutes or something. Stopped by hoping to try someplace new. The pizza arrived and was hot and freshly made. We also ordered fried zucchini and chicken Parmesan. The chicken parm came with garlic bread.

Pros: Pizza was fresh. Garlic bread was hot and clearly toasted. Chicken parm came out hot. Crust on zucchini and chicken parm was nice. The meat of the chicken parm was tender and juicy.

Cons: Both the zhuchini and chicken parm, including the pasta underneath, appeared to be previously frozen. The inside of the zucchini was just a softened mess. The sauce the pasta was swimming in tasted weirdly sweet like it came from a can or a jar. The pasta was ridiculously over cooked. They was conjecture that it tasted very much like Chef Boyardee.

Middle ground: Pizza is doughy. I happen to enjoy doughy pizzas but my husband hates them. It’s like being given a dinner roll at the end of every slice. If you’re into that sorta pizza, then this is a pro. If you don’t, then con. Hence middle ground.

Overall: Prices are worth the wait if you call way ahead and pick up. Otherwise planning to go here for a meal last minute, is just not gonna be...
