Ordered a burrito (Al Pastor) added grilled onions and chesse. When I received my order the burrito was a complete disaster. I took a single bite when it suddenly bursted falling apart from end to end. I walked to the kitchen counter telling them what had happen and the line cook (female) stated it was because I ordered a bunch of extras. I laughed it off and told them to wrap it with an additional tortilla. As they where figuring out what to do the lead line cook (Only male there) looked at me as if he could care less shrugging it off but otherwise kept it professional. Now I usually don't make a big fuss about fast food but I was once a chef for over a decade and funny thing is my 1st gig was working for a catering company aka a "Taquero" serving up to 2000 people per event (Lemon Fest in Upland). One of the most popular items on the menu was a Louis Burrito named after a regular who would order a burrito with 5 different meats along with rice, beans, chesse and grilled onions. This thing was massive!! Needless to say we never had a burrito fall apart which leads me to conclude that they need to not only upgrade their tortillas to a bigger size but a bit thicker as well. Let's not forget the fact that when he added the grilled onions he brought along a good amount of juices sitting in the hotel pan that most likely caused it to get soggy. Regardless the burrito was absolutely delicious and my fat* would definitely go back. Glad this place is a success after watching countless other restaurants fail at that...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of owning a home just 2 blocks from this restaurant. When I want authentic style tacos or burritos, I bring my family to this restaurant. The flavors bring me back to when I was a youngster and my parents would take us South of The border to enjoy a weekend in Ensenada eating delicious tacos with fresh meat that was butchered that morning. Oh, if you go on the weekend they have a special treat for people seeking Menudo made the old fashioned way with lots of tripe, delicious soup not over flavored and all the fixings that a good Menudo should have. The value is another reason I visit often. Many of my favorite restaurants have priced themselves out of my budget but El Arbolito continues to deliver large servings and small prices. I can feed my family of 4 plus enough tacos left over to bring home for my parents for under $40. El Arbolito obviously uses high quality meat so it's difficult to say which type of taco I recommend. My usual order is 2 chorizo tacos and 2 Tripa tacos and a Coca Cola in a can. If I'm real hungry I will order a burrito with half asada and half grilled chicken with grilled onions and red salsa. The menu is small but they are masters on everything on the menu. You cannot make a bad order and these lower prices allow you to try something you wouldn't normally order. The service is friendly and fast, the food is fresh and delicious and the value makes this place...
Read moreNot very hygienic, I was there last night with my wife, and I noticed the cook touching the food. the meat ,the rice in everything else with his bare hands, not wearing any gloves before he touch the rice into the container, right before he made the tacos he would grab the meat with his bare fingers and then put it on the tortilla and make a taco I just thought it was very dirty, at least they should have wore gloves before they handle the food that you are about to put in your mouth I don't know what he did with his hands prior to making my tacos, I don't know if he went to the rest room earlier,I don't know anything and because of that I only gave...
