We would love to support local small business and the cafe is cute but the service is definitely lacking. Upon entry we were instructed to sit anywhere we like. After 7 min of no menus, and as we started to leave the lady who was cleaning the table next to us, asked if we had gotten any service. Then she apologized and brought us menus. We ordered and she brought my husband's drip coffee (which my husband said was good), but forgot to bring my matcha. She apologized and said that our drinks would be comped. During our wait we overheard a waiter ask if the table behind us was waiting for their bill (they were sat after us) and they replied that had not received their food yet. They said that there was an order coming up and it was in fact our food sitting in the window getting cold. He came to our table and asked if we were waiting on anything and I said it was our food and my matcha. He left to grab it as the original waitress asked if we were doing ok, I said we were still waiting for food and that she had forgotten my drink. It took over 40 minutes to get our food. My husband's Ontario Benedict was pretty good but the salad had no dressing. My French toast plate was completely mediocre and cold. As we were were eating two ladies next to us had been waiting 25 minutes to order food and finally gave up and left. When we asked for the bill, it was hand written and the drinks were charged. Also, there was only an option to pay by cash or Zelle which was not explained earlier. After the very underwhelming experience, we didn't argue the bill, paid and left. We will not...
Read moreI genuinely think this place has a lot of potential but I won’t be coming back. When I walked in there was nobody in the front. (Which ok I get it busy doing other things, was slow in there) It was my first time.. so I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to sit and order or order at register. I was helped at the front register barely bc I engaged, wasn’t given a menu from the start which was confused about. Ordered. Sat. Unfortunately Food was very mediocre for the price point. I wanted to eat in restaurant but they packaged to go (idk if it’s cause I was alone) Chilaquiles had good flavor but were cold and just sad. Plate came with Potatoes (odd pair) but they were a bit bland and again just nothing fantastic for almost $20. (No egg/ meat etc) I wanted matcha but they told me after I paid for it that they ran out. I chose a chai alternatively and it tasted like water. I asked for a refund on it ($7.40ish). Turns out there was a misunderstanding and they did have matcha. So they made me my original drink. Matcha was decent but experience was just all over the place in a short amount of time. I don’t mind paying for a good meal or an $8 matcha but this place just wasn’t worth it. I think better basic systems need to be put into place to create a...
Read moreNormally, I wouldn't have posted about a restaurant like this but this restaurant has potential. Incredibly disorganized and extremely long waits. Their Ontario benedict was great, but is it worth the wait? Probably not. When we got there, they were about to sit us next, even though 2 other groups were ahead of us. Other groups complained but we were quick to point out that they were next. More people started arriving. After waiting for a while, we decided to get food to-go. Still waited an hour and a half. After a while, 2 people got sat down, skipping 2 girls ahead of us. They brought out our food, but they were missing half of it. Waited some more. I have never owned a restaurant but if they created a waitlist (written down or tablet) and bussed tables quicker, they would be far more successful. They obviously have the clientele to give them a try. Gave them a 2 for atmosphere because although place looks nice, annoyed group of people standing in entrance makes it uncomfortable....
