I love going to little hole in the wall spots bc usually they're the gems of the city and the CrapStop of Miami was no exception! This place was recommended to us by a local.
A humble building featuring limited seating and an ordering counter, the Crabstop is a seafood joint that shares a parking lot with a short order sandwich spot.
We were greeted as we walked in and were given time to look over the menu. I decided on the crab and shrimp while my partner decided on the jumbo shrimp plate. We ordered a side of garlic rice bc it sounded 🔥 combos included a drink so we both got their homemade juices, a lemonade and a fruit punch/lemonade mix for myself. We recieved our food about 10 mins later.
Everything came out piping hot, steaming, and smelling delicious! Each plate included our entrees with potatoes and fried sausage, which reminded me of how my momma used to burn sausages for me in the morning 😊😊 The shrimp were a nice size and covered in sauteed garlic and butter 😍 My plate came with one set of crab legs and about 5-7 shrimp.
Although I feel there could've been more seafood, everything was tasty. There were more potatoes than anything and my only edit would be to season the butter that they coat everything in and use less. Once you get to the bottom of your plate, everything is soaking in a sea of lightly salted garlic butter which is not as heavenly as it sounds.
Also, the juice I got was entirely too sweet and I could not finish it.
All in all, service was super friendly, the food was delicious and served to us fresh, and we did get full! 😊 I would definitely give this spot...
Read moreAt first I loved this place, the give you plenty of food for the price and the food was great. Even with that being said, the last 2 times I ordered from here, I have had a problem. I ordered the crab, I believe a pound, it came with sausage, one boiled egg, potatoes and shrimp. This is not what I normally order due to it being so hard to find fresh crab, surprisingly in miami. So I take my food home and as I'm eating I get this strong odor of ammonia coming from the crab. If you know anything about crab, the smell of ammonia means the crab is bad and no longer edible. So I threw the food away, basically telling myself I just got a bad bunch. I recently ordered again and for the second time my crab smelled of ammonia. I'm always one to give someone a second chance but this is one too many times for me. I'm no expert but I can guess the owners are over ordering and the crab is going bad. Not sure about the other seafood but I would be careful when eating here! P.s. I did get sick from the first experience where I smelled ammonia. Didn't make the same mistake twice! Also a tad confused about these reviews, maybe I went at the...
Read moreTheeee Best garlic Crabs and we got them fried. The sausage was slices thinly which makes it much better to me than those big ole pieces if sausage in traditional crab pans. The garlic butter was delicious! The slushies were bomb also. We also ordered the tilapia sandwich, fried shrimp and wings...ALL BOMB! Service was excellent and they were patient with us. We came from DC so we're undecided on what menu options to choose. We went back for an entire pan of fried garlic Crabs that we took and ate on the beach. We will be ordering and having them shipped to us in DC. Oh yes and the prices are very reasonable. Thanks...
