Casa Maria's Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Opelika

Our 1st visit here was last night. We had very high hopes. But it was a 50/50 meal. Chips were over cooked and you could tell the oil had some miles on it. The salsa was sauce and not salsa. A puree’ kinda of salsa. I’m not a fan and both my wife and son agreed, C- . Large cheese dip was $7.75. It was very good. So we ended up getting two of them. Solid A.

My wife and I split the # 25. Texas Fajitas $19.50 Like most places around here they cook their fajitas toooo long. Steak and chicken were dried out. Surprisingly the shrimp were almost cooked perfectly. It said tomatoes came with the fajitas but we had a total of two pieces of tomato. . The complement of fajita fixings were good. Good flavored rice, just a bit dry. The beans had really good flavor. Guacamole was pretty good too. Their flour tortillas needed a little more salt but they were cooked very well. Good flavor. My son ordered the best dish out of the two. # 61-A Pollo Loco $18.95 The chicken was almost perfectly cooked. The toppings on the chicken were a wonderful treat. He throughly enjoyed his meal. Pollo Loco A++. The place looked great inside and vast improvement from the prior tenants. The service here was excellent. Our waiter Valerio, at least that was the name on my receipt, did an amazing job.

I was a little reluctant to try this place since its first opening, but my friend and I decided to give it a shot since it was so close to my house. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in the door and immediately taken to our table. First things first; chips, salsa, and queso damn near as soon as you sit down! Our waiter, though we never got his name, was very nice and quick to check on us! Very little actual conversation we had with him but every encounter, he was very polite. The food comes out pretty quick, enough time in between ordering and the food arriving to start a good conversation and eat a few chips. The food was hot, it was delicious, and very filling! Loved every second of being there. The outside of the restaurant is very plain, nothing special, but the inside is very modern, bright, with tvs everywhere to watch (not listen), and music playing. A very clean looking place! As we were leaving every restaurant employee we passed told us to have a good night and good bye, so that was very nice! Outside, by the front door, they have their “Specials” days, and it’s quite a few good specials! 10/10 would come here again, and many more times, when I’m in the mood for that...

Wow, amazing everything. I can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we walked out, just absolutely the best evwr,,, well i went here again last nite, the server was horrible. Took a very long time to get our order, 6 tables that were set after us were able to order before us. I could see the manager looking around for him cause we were just sitting there at our table, he finally showed up. Then we he brought our food out, he literally dropped it on the table and quickly walked away , before I could even ask for a glass of water. He never did come even near our table again, I had to go ask someone else to et my bill for me. Absolutely horrible service. And he couldn't even understand English ( at all ) I understand this is a Mexican restaurant, but I don't speak Spanish, sorry I live in America I don't need to know how to...
