Sonya's Donuts & Deli — Restaurant in Opelousas

Whatever you do, don’t go thru their drive thru unless you’ve called in your order ahead of time! Otherwise you will wait 40 minutes plus in the parking lot. They will take your order and you will be told to wait in a parking space for them to walk out your order to the car since their lobby is closed for covid. The food is good but the respect level for people’s time is very poor at this establishment. They have no sense of urgency. I was one of the unfortunate folks that waited nearly 45 minutes and nothing came out. I literally sat their and watched them bring out food to folks that came 15-20 minutes after I placed my order. I asked for a refund. I visit Opelousas maybe 2-3 times a month on business and I’ve enjoyed their food in the past but this last experience has left a bad impression and I will most likely not return. I visited LA from CO and after a Google search of places to eat nearby, I came across Sonya's Deli. I went with the recommendations from other customers and ordered the eggs and rice and was so happy I did! I was able to order ahead, and drive up to the pick up window. The staff is so friendly. Arrived there at 4:30 am and got large warm fresh doughnuts. The doughnuts taste great, I was very satisfied with the food, service and price. I will be a repeat customer.
