I like to try small mom and pop pizza places. I am always looking for the diamond in the rough. It was a clean nice atmosphere. The restaurant was decorated very nicely. That was all of the positives. My family went in for dinner on St. Patrick's day. We waited almost 10 minutes before anyone even came over to us and offered us a menu. After finally receiving our menus it took another 10 minutes before our server came over and took our orders. We did not order anything crazy. 2 appetizers, 2, 7 inch individual pizzas, order of chicken tenders and fries off the kids menu and a 10 inch pizza for myself. We all ordered drinks to accompany our dinners. We were not offered a refill the entire time we were there, so I took matters into my own hands and got my family their refills. Not sure if this is what you are supposed to do here since we never had anyone wait on us after we sat there waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. Oh, did I mention we waited. So after what felt like an hour of being ignored. We got 1 of our appetizers. The server apologized and said they burned the garlic bread and they were making more. 10 minutes later the wrong appetizer was delivered with 2 of the dinners. 5 minutes after that a third dinner showed up. We ordered garlic bread with cheese. As I sit in the booth and watch my entire family eat their dinner and I am stuck eating an appetizer that was wrong to begin with because my pizza has not shown up yet, I'm just getting madder and madder. The entire time we were there we felt as though we were a burden on the staff. My entire family was done eating and I'm still waiting for my food. I did get a half felt apology from the server when he brought the food to my table. Of course it was not edible at this point. I'm pretty sure a layer of skin would have peeled of the roof of my mouth had I tried to eat it. So my family got to just sit and watch me eat my pizza once it cooled down. We still have not had a manager or anyone come to the table and say two words about the screw ups thus far. Oh wait, here comes the bill. It was $54.00 plus dollars for 2 kids meals, 2 appetizers, 1 seven inch pizza, 1 ten inch pizza and 4 drinks. They rang everything up wrong, not to mention we did not get what we asked for. I read the reviews and debated whether I should leave one. The food was ok. The service was horrible. The fact that I had no one even acknowledge the screw ups basically pushed me over the edge to leave this review. I'm sure all your regular customers get the red carpet treatment, but you will never get another dime out of my pocket. Sincerely yours,...
Read moreWe discovered Taranto’s soon after moving to the area and we were excited to try it. Once we did, we soon became regulars. We don’t always have the easiest orders as we have a family full of very picky eaters so we can be difficult to say the least. Taranto’s employees always do their best to make sure our somewhat complicated orders are made to our satisfaction and any time they’ve ever gotten something wrong, they never hesitate to make it right without making you feel bad about it. This place ranges from laid-back to bustling depending on the time/day you go. We’ve discovered the best time to go is usually around 7-8 pm, however, they also offer take-out orders. As per quality of food, I have to put them at the top of my list for actual taste of not only the pizza, but subs, salads, and appetizers as well. Everyone in our family finds something they love here. We eat here anywhere from 1-3 times per week! We love that it’s family oriented and owned so it’s nice to see how everyone works together, which makes for a much better customer service experience as well as a more relaxed environment. Prices are on par with other local establishments, with even higher quality food! There’s something about the crust that makes this pizza stand apart from others. They offer gluten free crust, hand tossed, and thin crust. I personally recommend the hand tossed, it’s crunchy, yet chewy with a slight hint of something sweet. The sauce is great, and the cheese is absolutely delicious! In a nutshell- Taranto’s is local, delicious, and affordable! What more...
Read moreThe worst service I’ve ever experienced. We came to Taranto’s on Friday, April 21st around 5:45 pm. After sitting around for about 10 minutes we were finally acknowledged by a staff member. We (me, my 6 year old and 4 year old) ordered 2 small pizzas and garlic cheese bread. It took about 20 minutes for the garlic cheese bread to come out. The server said it shouldn’t be much longer for the pizza. Another 25 minutes goes by and still no pizza. My kids were getting upset from the long wait and getting really hungry. I asked the server how much longer it would be and he said they just took them out of the oven and cutting them now. Another 10 minutes goes by and still no pizza. I asked the server again where the pizza was and he said they were busy and he didn’t know what was going on in the kitchen. I asked him why he lied and said our pizzas were ready 10 minutes ago and he said he didn’t know what was going on. I asked to speak to a manager and I was told that he was too busy and wasn’t going to come out and speak to me. So much for a family restaurant. So after nearly an hour wait for 2 small pizzas, being lied to by the server, and the manager refusing to speak to me, I left with 2 crying hungry kids with no pizza. Beyond terrible customer service.
We left there, drove across the street to Donatos, and had our pizza in 15 minutes. Thank you Donatos for saving pizza night with the kids.
We won’t be...
