3 stars are my original choice - however, if I could rate on different things, then I would give 5 stars to Lauren (sorry if I misspelled your name). Even though she was not my waitress from beginning to end, she made my visit a pleasant one. Let's start with 1st appearances: the "main building" (in yellow from the picture) looks boutique but the "buildings connected to it" make it look like something from the late 1800s Midwest cowboy scene. Interior: Once you enter, you can see the layout is very spacious. One thing I noticed, I was the only person under the age of 40 dining in that restaurant. I can see that this is probably a local steeple with the older generation but I'm not complaining, it's better than going too an overcrowded place with screaming children and parents that don't care what those kids do. Menu: This All-American menu (with a few Mexican options) surprised me, not with what they were serving but with the price. Nearly $20 for 1 breakfast plate. As I looked puzzled, Lauren came and explained "Arthur's" to me and how huge the portions were. I asked for some recommendations and I followed up with the country fried steak and "legendary" biscuits with gravy. From the picture included, you can see how big these portions are... Taste: the food was fine for what you got and there wasn't anything too mesmerising about it. Overall experience: a normal visit with basic flavor is what I got with the exception of Lauren (you're the best). Will I be returning here?... honestly, it won't be the 1st place I think of for food BUT, I will consider it if I have a craving... And maybe for Lauren as well (probably the ONLY reason why I'd return, thanks for the hospitality. You are a diamond in the rough)

My brother and I went here for breakfast and had a great experience. There was a short wait, and the building had an old Western-style exterior that gave it a unique charm. Inside, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with a cozy, diner-style feel. Our waitress, Christina, was fantastic—super friendly, full of energy, and had the entire menu memorized. She even doubled our biscuit order, which was very kind and thoughtful. Shout out to Christina 🙏 For breakfast, we had sirloin scrambles packed with tender, flavorful steak pieces, fluffy eggs, sautéed onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, and crispy fried potatoes. The scramble was topped with a lot of shredded cheese, which melted perfectly over everything—so good. The homemade biscuits were fresh, warm, and buttery—true comfort food. We added a half order of stuffed waffles topped with sweet strawberries and cream, along with a half order of stuffed pancakes—both thin, golden, and filled with delicious goodness. To drink, we had rich chocolate milk and fresh orange juice. The service was fast, the portions were generous, the food was delicious, and the price was surprisingly reasonable. Definitely a spot worth visiting again.

This unique building is a delightful sight inside and out! The facade of the cafe reminded me of the buildings at Knott's Berry Farm--country/Western look and feel with vibrant colors. Step into the restaurant and feast your eyes on a homely country-style, colors and decor. I loved the clean country look and feel! Let's get to the good stuff... The FOOD! Today's order consisted of Country Biscuits & Gravy and Chicken & Waffles. Let me tell y'all! I haven't had them this good in so long! The biscuits were freshly made out of the oven. The chicken was the first batch made this morning so it was also piping hot. Flavor-wise, everything was perfect to my liking. Not to salty for the chicken and not too sweet for the nice and fluffy waffles. Yes, I said FLUFFY waffles! The biscuits were buttered INSIDE, so it was perfect! Didn't even use any of the butter on the side. It was THAT perfect! Arthur's Cafe is truly a hidden gem. The hostess and servers were all nice and cheerful. It was a wonderful experience and I'll definitely be back here more often!

My Dad took me here for the first time. It was a place he visited often when here lived in the area 30+ years ago. I was excited going in but got a little nervous when I saw the decor. It probably hasn't been updated in quite some time. Locals would probably say it's charming and homey. I would say maybe it's time to revamp. However when it came down to service we were seated immediately by friendly staff and greeted by our waitress very quickly. They have fresh squeezed orange juice which can't be beat. Very refreshing. Their menu has a lot of options from classic breakfast dishes to things that make you scratch your head wondering if it'll be good or not. I was not disappointed with the choice I made. I love a good Benedict so when I saw a waffle Benedict on the menu I knew it was my choice. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the Belgian waffle was light and crispy and a perfect companion to the eggs and ham. I also ordered hash browns (well done because most places usually under cook them in my onion) nevertheless I probably would have been fine if I hadn't because they were almost too crispy. I'm sure the regular cook on them would have been perfect. Service was quick and we were able to get in and out of there in a timely manner with our bellys full. Next time I'm in town, I'm going...

My husband and I have been coming here since 2004! We love a good wholesome breakfast and they sure do deliver. If you like southern style foods for breakfast, you should come here! Be aware, the dishes are big. So, come with an appetite. They have also renovated. Now, I like the renovation and it looks a lot sharper, less busy. But we did love all the nik-nak and memorabilia. Or at least I did. The menu shrank a bunch and prices did go up. But that happens when things like a pandemic shut down happens and new ownership. If you want to save money and get your money's worth, try and come on a weekday and get their specials. You still get a giant proportion and spend less than $30 for 2 people. A review isn't a review without talking about the food! Biscuits and gravy are the best in OC. O'Brian potatoes a little well done, yum! And basically they have all you can imagine for breakfast. I like their country-fried chicken and eggs, or their country benedict (eggs Benedict with with their fresh biscuits instead of English muffin and gravy instead of hollandaise sauce! Mmmmmmmm I'm hungry!! The staff is awesome and has been the same few gals since we began coming there. They are so sweet and accommodating! Thank you to all...
