Sameer what are you doing with your once great restaurant?? I have been coming here for about a year now. I was in at least once or twice a week every single week for almost the entire year. This was my absolute favorite Mediterranean spot, and I love Mediterranean food. There was no better place and I have been to many at this point. Everything was always fresh and the service was great. Sameer made sure everything was always in tiptop shape here but I have not seen him for a long time.
For at least the last five or six times I've been in my experience has been subpar. It pains me to say that. Sometimes the food does not taste right. Sometimes it's the chicken being dry or cold. Sometimes the garbanzo beans they put on top are downright stale like today. Sometimes the toppings taste off like maybe something has gone bad in them. Sometimes it's many things in an order that don't taste right. Sometimes it's just one. I really don't know what's going on with this place. I just want it to go back to the way it was. It also seems like there's a high turnover of employees lately. Maybe Sameer is putting all his effort into the other location. I don't know what it is but it's not good. I rarely come here now.
I came in today for the first time in a few weeks. I brought my girlfriend who has been a big fan of the restaurant as well. We came in shortly after opening and we were told that the chicken wasn't hot because they just opened and they would have to warm it up. I then heard what sounded like a microwave coming from the back of the restaurant. This place isn't cheap so it hurts to hear a microwave warming up your food. I'm also curious if this means they are serving day old chicken that was put in the refrigerator at the end of the prior day. I'm not saying that's what happened but I'm just not sure why the chicken would be cold coming out of the warmer and needing to be put into a microwave. The employee also seemed stressed out so I'm guessing she was working by herself as seems to be the norm for this restaurant for a while now. I have noticed a help wanted sign up on the door most days. I guess they're still running short. Also, our pita bread did not arrive until we were finishing our meal because she was having trouble multitasking. She did have good customer...

Oh man, I was really blown away by where this place is located--kind of hidden in the suburbs, but a real gem. My partner and I found it refreshing that they were open on Sunday, according to the sign outside, and it was a new discovery for us. When we arrived, there was a couple in front of us. Based on their questions, they didn't seem like locals, which isn't a problem, but I did notice the server seemed to be taking extra time with them. At first, I was a little concerned but then thought, "Oh my God, maybe we'll get this level of attentiveness too!" This is a family-run place, so I was excited.
However, when it was our turn, the experience felt rushed. We appreciate efficiency, but the food was absolutely amazing--out of this world. The options were unique and beautiful, and the server was kind, but there was a noticeable difference in how we were treated compared to the family in front of us. They seemed to be given special treatment, which raised concerns about whether our race or the way we looked was a factor in how we were treated. As consumers, we believe that everyone should receive equal treatment, and it made us uncomfortable to think that our appearance or background might have influenced the service.
That said, this place is still a hidden gem, super clean, and committed to great ingredients. We still rate it 5 out of 5, but I hope they'll be mindful of the way all customers are treated. It's important to make sure no one feels like they're being rushed or overlooked, especially based on...
