Marie Callender's Restaurant & Bakery — Restaurant in Orange

Tonight my partner came in and finished a simple order of a beef sandwich with au jus, mashed potatoes, a salad, a cup of soup and two pieces of pie at 6:51. 30 minutes (7:22) later the pretty simple order was up and she could head home.

Partner got home and I noticed the soup and the au jus were missing. Before making the drive I tried to call (7:39), and they didn’t answer. So I drive the 15 minutes one way and they give me au jus and a cup of soup (no offer of anything else due to their error).

Got back home, and opened my salad. No dressing. Called them (8:13 pm) and they answered this time. Expressed my frustration and left my number, but I’m not sure they got it down because their phone is so broken (likely cord) it cuts in and out with a lot of static.

Fine. I’ll eat the salad after I go out and buy dressing, and I’ll figure out something else to go with my soup. Finish soup, open the pie pieces… and they gave us the wrong pie on one of the two.

How can you mess up 4/6 items? Literally got the mashed potatoes right, and one of the two pieces of pie.

So incredibly disappointed at this experience. I’ll update if I get contacted back by the staff.

Edit: 9 days later. No contact back from restaurant. Emailed the place the response to this asked me to, no response. No snail mail response. So guessing the response here was just a performance theater topper of poop for this...

We visit this Marie calanders often. The food is good, we always sit at the bar. Today when we walked in, the hostess followed us to the bar to let us know that there was no bartender today & there would be a 10 min wait for a Server. We had no problem waiting because we like to support our local businesses. We waited patiently for about 20 minutes, then this lady came behind the bar & said “ what do you want” we told her, a beer & a iced tea with lemon. The beer was no problem, however she had to leave the bar to get the iced tea, by her gesture that was a problem……. & we never seen her again. No menus for food options. Serval servers working the tables all around, but we were never acknowledged again. We asked the hostess for our bill, a server came & asked us what we had, & her rang us up. I asked what her name was, he said “ that’s Michelle, she’s the boss” WOW‼️ From all my management classes, the first thing is always lead by example. From this point forward~ we will call ahead & ask if. Sue or Cindy are working. They have been there forever & are always great servers & happy to see & wait on us. Sue even makes sure they keep Tuaca on hand for my husband. Great place, horrible...

I used to love Marie Callender‘s here but since the pandemic and especially the last month or two things are not the same. The quality of their product has gone down. I ordered vegetable soup and a croissant Turkey bacon avocado sandwich. The vegetable soup was terrible. All it had in it literally was big hunks of celery peas everywhere one carrot one tiny piece of zucchini and onions and one little piece of tomato. I couldn’t believe it. The sandwich looks like and I’ve ordered it numerous times that they’ve gotten smaller croissants from somewhere there were three little pieces of turkey one tomato sliced cut in half it was in a container and they didn’t put toothpicks in it to hold it together so it didn’t come apart in the container and it was all apart in the container. you’re talking with Delivery and their fees and they’ve upped their prices at Marie’s it was $31!! Guess what never again. Sorry Marie but things have changed and I wish you’d go back to the way you were. If you’re going to up the charges you better give...
