If it was possible to give “no stars” that would suffice much better than giving one. Yesterday, my family and I decided to celebrate my grandmothers 72 birthday. We’ve done so in the past with my large family and were accommodates accordingly. I called a week in advance and was told to sign up on the app and do the guest ahead. Of course, the website was giving issues so I decided to call again. Fast forward to yesterday, I called and spoke to the manager again giving them a heads up. He took my information and the amount of people and told me they will anticipate our arrival but depending on the crowd, there’s likely a wait. Okay no problem.
I arrived 15 minutes before 8. I gave the hostess my name and they knew who I was and told me the wait would be 25-30 minutes. No problem’ it was a group of 20 and not everyone was on time. About 40 minutes later we were brought to the close off section that was jammed packed and the heat was uncomfortably hot. They decided to move us to a better area which I really appreciated. The food was great (I guess they deserved one star) but when asked if we will split the bill, I told them if that’s not going to be an issue than yes. The waiter insisted it would not and took the orders. By the end of a very long night, we asked for the bill. After waiting 30 minutes no waiter no bill. We finally packed up all our belongings and headed to the front to inquire about the delay. We were told the waiter was having issues with splitting the bill so we waited in the empty lobby in the middle of an empty restaurant. I seen the manager who was so nice to me in the beginning and joked around with him insisting that the bill be on them since we had to wait so long (kidding of course)! He then jumped down my throat saying he doesn’t know who I am and that I should have told them I wanted a split check in the beginning.... not the right approach. I quickly became serious and explained that the waiter was the one who made the suggestion and instead of talking to me like an individual in charge, he walked away with no acknowledgement. By now it’s 11:30, we have two infants and kids ages 5-15 with us. 15 minutes later the waiter arrived with the bill.
I am a business owner and feel like the chain of command in this establishment needs to be adjusted. This is not the first but surely the last time I’ll have a negative encounter with the higher ups! In regards to your guest ahead, I recommend critiquing it because it’s not effective. Also, with party sizes exceeding 20 and up maybe initiating a deposit to hold the spot will work better.
You’ve lost a customer! I will not...
Read moreI visited the Olive Garden located in Orange Ct on Sunday September 30, 2025, an upon my arrival the atmosphere was inviting and the establishment was clean. When I sat down I noticed a kiosk sitting on the table so I began fidgeting with it because appearance wise, I thought you could order food/beverages from it. Once I made my selections, I discovered that the device wasn’t working so I asked another server if he was my server because I noticed that a couple that had come in after me was being served before me, and I needed help with the kiosk. The sever informed me that he wasn’t my sever but would let my server know that I needed assistance. Within a matter of seconds, this kind gentleman, later identified as Dan, who was the manager, came over and sat down across from me and asked how could he help me. He had a warm smile and exuded patience, kindness, and interpersonal skills. He apologized for my delay in service and explained that my server was tied up elsewhere but would be with me shortly. I explained to him that I had not been waiting long and that my issue was with the kiosk. He explained that the kiosk could only be used to order appetizers and pay my bill. At this time, my server arrived and Dan instructed him to not charge me for an appetizer, which I thanked him for. He apologized again for my delay and left to interact with other customers seated in my area. I ordered my food and when it arrived, the salad was swimming in the dressing and inedible. I ordered chicken scampi and the chicken was also inedible because the breaded or flour used to coat it was caked up and raw. I brought it home to try and doctor it up but it was a lost cause. I must say that I don’t eat out much since the pandemic because I’ve noticed that the quality of food and its deliverance has gone downhill. I was really disappointed about the way my food was prepared because I actually love the chicken scampi at Olive Garden. I will not be eating out anymore anywhere because I find that ALL the restaurants services are subpar. I much rather prepare my own food at home and be rest assured that the outcome will be to my satisfaction. Thank you Dan for you genuine hospitality and I would also like to thank my service who was also kind, patient and...
Read moreI love pasta, they have pasta, I love Olive Garden. I’ve visited this restaurant for years, ever since I was about 4 years of age. I have experienced a handful of dishes here and I can assure you they’re just magnificent. The staff are kind and patient, the area is clean, wait may be a bit long depending on when you go, but besides that everything there is wonderful. They also have a bar, I am still underage but if you are into stuff like that then go ahead and enjoy yourself! One thing I am not 100% about is their bread. Like stated before I have been to this restaurant for years on and have seen and tasted their changes; don’t get me wrong, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE their bread sticks,so warm, lightly salted, and so soft. Well that is how it used to be. Now it’s overly salted, warm, and really crunchy. I still like it but it just isn’t what I grew up eating, the nostalgic taste is long gone. Now that I think about it, I am angry that they made such changes and would like them to bring back their savoury bread sticks. But that is just what I think. My friends and family also love their bread and dishes so this isn’t just my opinion but also those around me. I strongly recommend going there if you love pasta just like I do; this may be a bit off topic but their kids menus are also pretty cool. My mom loves their desserts, especially their moose cake, so also make sure to try that. One more thing I would like to mention is their ending “gift.” At the end of each meal, you get these chocolate mint bars and they’re so good, plus they make your breath smell good. So that is a win-win for me! I would also like to add that the only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of their bread sticks, I am just a little petty about that. But anyways.... GO TO OLIVE GARDEN AND...
