Looking for a quick place to dine ended up at Puerto Vallarta in CT. This isn’t my first time going but it will be my last. The food is usually very tasty, never an issue until tonight. It seemed like the service was off. I ordered a drink to start and the drinks were good. I got The Love on fire and my sister had the mojito. When we ordered our food is where the issue took place and seemed to go downhill after. My sister requested the fajitas I requested the arroz Vallarta. I did not realize the arroz came with con queso on top of the meal. My fault the description is not in English and I overlooked that the cheese sauce would be mixed in my meal. It wasn’t bad but it’s not how I envisioned my meal. I was so hungry for a good steak but opted for this tempting trio rice dish. It has shrimp, chicken, and steak. It looked amazing when it came out but I couldn’t manage to get past all the clumps of cheese embedded in the meal. When I requested to have the dish removed off the tab I was denied by the waitress. I understand it’s my fault for not questioning how it’s prepared. I opted to box it but I know if I was the owner I wouldn’t want a dissatisfied customer; so, I requested to speak with a manager. He came promptly I explained my dislike for the dish, without hesitation he stated they’d remake it for me. I was hesitant as I never send anything back. Welp, I should’ve followed my instincts the dish didn’t look as well prepared as the first. The chicken looked pale, the steak wasn’t cooked well, there was very little slices unlike the first dish, overall it lacked in flavor. I was highly disappointed. I already felt bad sending the dish back I just muddled through it. I opted to try the dessert maybe go home with a treat I mean how can that go wrong🥹I ordered flan to go per the waitress it’s “very good.” It’s a vanilla/chocolate mix. I got it to go I paid the max tip as again I felt bad sending the food and wanted to compensate for any trouble. I got home took out the flan only to find they gave me yesterday’s dessert. Oh well, I’m sure it was intentional. Overall I paid $86 in total. I won’t be returning I feel like I was punished for having a preference.
Thank you for your response. Let’s be clear—if your “desserts are prepared fresh daily,” then why was I served anything less than fresh flan? You see the photo. I was treated unfairly in your establishment, and I have every reason to question what happened to my food once it was remade in the back. You cannot correct poor character, but you can hold your employees accountable. Expired items have no business coming out of your kitchen, and food presentation should always reflect top-tier standards without exception. There’s no way to make this right on my behalf, however, for your prospective patrons...
Read moreI’ve dined in countless settings, from humble hidden gems to Michelin-starred sanctuaries of haute cuisine, yet this Mexican establishment reigns supreme, a radiant jewel in the crown of culinary excellence. From the moment we stepped into its warm, vibrant embrace, the experience transcended mere dining—it was a celebration of authenticity, flavor, and unparalleled hospitality. Our server, Santiago, was nothing short of extraordinary, delivering a level of service that rivals the finest Michelin 2- or 3-star establishments. His attentiveness was impeccable, his warmth genuine, and his intuition for our needs almost magical. He curated our plates with a personal touch, ensuring every detail was tailored to perfection. My sparkling water glass? Never once did it touch the bottom—Santiago’s vigilance was a quiet symphony of care, elevating our meal into a seamless, luxurious experience. The food, oh, the food! It was a revelation, a vibrant love letter to the heart and soul of Mexican cuisine. Each bite transported us to the sun-drenched streets of a small Latin American village, where recipes are crafted with love and tradition. The burritos—each a masterpiece—burst with flavors so vivid they seemed to dance on the palate. The tender, succulent meat and the exquisitely prepared octopus were nothing short of divine, each ingredient singing in perfect harmony. Every dish was a testament to authenticity, crafted with such care that it felt like a warm embrace from the hands of a cherished abuelita. Our group savored a variety of dishes, and each was a triumph, leaving us spellbound by the depth of flavor and artistry. This is not just a restaurant; it’s a portal to the soul of Mexico, where every plate tells a story of heritage and passion. For an experience that is as unforgettable as it is authentic, I implore you to seek out Santiago when you visit. His grace, paired with the transcendent cuisine, will weave a memory so vivid it will linger in your heart long after the last bite. This is not merely dining—it’s a journey, a masterpiece, a love song...
Read moreI've been here before and have had better experiences in the past but after my last visit I don't think I'll be back for a while, if at all.
They don't give chips and salsa like they used to. Instead they give you a huge plate with two little itty bitty tortillas and large container of salsa that you can't even finish because they barely give you any tortillas to dip and they don't offer more.
I asked for 3 different beers that are listed on the menu, and they had none of them! No Blue Moon, no Heineken and no Budweiser. How pathetic. So I ask for a diet Coke. Then I learn when I get the bill that I was actually served regular Coke, which I didn't want. How hard is it to take my order correctly considering the waiter had one of those little computers where he enters the order?
I ordered this brisket taco meal for $24. I get 4 tacos that come out on some clothes line like contraption where they are hanging with clothespins. How unappetizing , I'm taking my food off of some 1980s wooden clothespins. I knew things were downhill from here. The tacos were a bit greasy, and came with a few condiments that I couldn't figure out how to incorporate into the meal, so I left them. Tacos for $24 and they didn't even come with a side of rice and beans, pico de gallo, or guacamole, like pretty much every meal, in every Mexican restaurant. I was still hungry after eating due to the small size of the tacos which hardly had any filling. That was not worth near $24. And you don't even want to know what those tacos did to my stomach after I left.
After eating our entrees the waiter asked us if we wanted dessert, we didn't bother because he'd probably say they were out of whatever we wanted.
This was such a disappointment that I won't consider spending money here, the value is not there anymore. There's better places to dine out and get your money's worth. If they keep running the restaurant like this, it's likely to close soon because I can't imagine anyone going there and thinking they're getting a decent meal for a decent price, because we...
