I visited Hook and Reel for the first time Saturday and it was the worst experience I have ever had. Our waitress Davida was the rudest waitress I have ever encountered! My family and I went out for expecting to have a good night and it was ruined by this waitress. Every time we asked for something she would say “You’re gonna have to wait cuz I’m busy” I asked her For a kids menu and she said “Oh they should have given you one when they say you. You see so how busy we are? You’re gonna have to wait.” My son’s food came out and she never brought utensils, we had to ask the manager for some and received 3 forms for a party of 7. My son waited 10 minutes to get utensils to them eat cold food. We asked her for some extra sauce for my son’s pasta and she said “ the Kitchen is too busy Idk when you’ll get that, you’ll have to wait”. Where ordering, we were asking Davida questions about the menu and she called my family “difficult”. She had an attitude the entire night. When we asked to speak to the manager, Davida stated that the manager was not to be bothered and if we had any issues to take it up with her because calling the manager is getting her in trouble and she’s not for it. Davida never both utensils for the rest of us. The table behind us left because of her as well. When we expressed that we were upset about the service, Davida began to argue with us. She stated that she didn’t care how we felt because she wouldn’t be working at the restaurant after that night. We had a $280 tab without including the money spent at the bar before being seated. We spent money to have a bad experience. I ordered a seafood broil and when I told her my crab legs were missing And I never got the extra corn I ordered she pretended like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I needed up getting the crab legs but never the corn. I ate my entire meal without a drink because she never brought my soda out. I had to again ask the manager to bring me a soda. We also waited 20 minutes to get a check because Davida kept walking by us and never brought anything out. We had to ask the manager for a check. It was the most unpleasant experience ever. Read moreI dined in today after a few months of giving it a break. The server was nice, however, my sweet potato fries were not hot but I didn’t bother to send them back because I knew I wouldn’t eat many of them. The fried shrimp were fried well and they were nice and hot -just like I like them.
I must say though I wish Danielle would return - she made the best mango mai-tai. The last time I was there I gave the newer manager a chance🤦🏾♀️- the drink didn’t look nothing like a mai tai and he had the nerve to tell me it’s because they mix the dark room inside clearly he had no clue about the connection of sight before taste. Nonetheless I tried it last time I was there and let’s just say I did not order one today nor will I ever order one in the future.
Had Danielle been there I would’ve ordered three.🤣 She made them properly- visually appealing- it looked like a mai-tai and it tasted like one.
I really miss the mango mai- tai that was on the menu. It is not the same as a mango fizzle! I enjoyed a water with lemon today.🤷🏽♀️

Update 10/19/23. I have been coming here weekly with my family. It’s time to move on. I don’t understand why a customer is not allowed to order all flats- give the people what they want!!! I can take my business elsewhere.

Read moreThis most recent trip was the worst experience I have had at this restaurant. Tremaine was our server and he was friendly in the beginning, but that wore off soon after. I ordered one pound of king crab legs and a half pound of scallops. I received the photo attached. I had asked the chef/food busser if the crab legs were king crab legs and he had confirmed they were. I asked Tremaine if they were king crab legs and also if it was a pound of crab legs and was told a few different things such as they were pre portioned, legs can be different sizes, legs had to be broken in order to fit in the pot, etc. The 4 legs were received in pieces and not a cluster like I have received in the past. They were also very small and pre cracked. The meat was very stringy and tasted frozen. I have ordered king crab from here before and the meat was always very sweet, supple, and fresh. I felt like I received scraps from the bottom of the freezer. I paid market price of $59 for a pound of king crab legs. I was being watched as I was paying on the tablet. I did not tip on my card, and Tremaine gave us a very rude glare once I completed payment. He did not say anything to us or acknowledge us on the way out of the restaurant.
