House of Pizza on Sims — Restaurant in Orangeburg

This review does not pertain to anything besides the attitude that was given to us over the phone. It is not a reflection of cooks or wait service, simply the lack of manners that was shown. There was a misunderstanding with an online ordering app and instead of taking the time to simply listen to what was being asked, the woman who answered was condescending and patronizing.

We explained that money was taken from the account and the display said the order was processed and this restaurants location was on the screen. She told us she probably didn't receive the order, because they did not use that service. We explained that we had been waiting an hour for food to be delivered and even though she insisted that it wasn't possible because it was not the service they use we asked if she could check the orders she had just to make sure. At this request she started to speak SLOWLY and EXAGGERATED, elongating her words, as if to express that we were ignorant for not understanding that their store was not associated with the app that we were using. My friend told her she understood, but asked her if she still could check given what we saw on our end. We gave her a specific dollar amount (what they said the total was and total with delivery fees and tax)

Food ordering technology is fickle and there are several ways that she, working at the restaurant could have been correct, and we still not understand the discrepancy. I eat at this location for lunch often and I know that the barrel room is the name of the bar attached to this house of pizza and it was certainly what I was looking at on the screen. Now why the service said we could receive deliveries from this location but the restaurant not be associated with it, is still a mystery.

While the woman on the phone did check, instead of being patient she did not stop her condescension. Just because you say "have a nice weekend" after you're disrespectful, it does not erase what you said prior. This woman was needlessly defensive and...

We tried to place an online order, which wouldn't go through, so we called in our order yesterday at 215pm. We said we'd pick it up in 30 to 45 mins. Arrived at the restaurant a little after 3 to pick up our order, (they claimed they were waiting on the grilled chicken and greek potatoes), so I waited, waited and waited some more...meanwhile, a family came in during that time and asked for a window seat, the hostess told them there were no servers in that section but the man insisted on having a window seat, the hostess then replied why do you want to sit where no one will serve you? Then she asked a server if they'd be willing to assist that family. Another man was at the counter when I walked in, waiting to get ice cream, and finally when my order was bagged up about 35 minutes after I arrived, that man was finally helped as I was getting my order, he wanted a hot fudge sundae and I kid you not, the server had to ask how to make a hot fudge sundae. She must have been in her 20s and I honestly never heard of anyone who didn't know how to make a hot fudge sundae...I guess I know why they have that "Now Hiring" sign out front...I then drove 5 miles to my mother in laws house, unpacked the food and the potatoes, I waited so long for, were ice cold, the small grilled chicken salad was served in a dessert carry out box and my rice bowl had dried up old pasta and a pickle mixed in. I called on 3/1/19 to place an order about 4 times starting around 9:00pm last night. Needless to say no one never picked up the telephone. I asked my husband at 9:20 to please drive and pick up our dinner because we were never going to get through, and it’s only 5 min away from our house. When he arrived there he said that the phones was ringing non stop and it was a very young lady working the front area and she stated to him, “ That phone had been ringing and ringing and it will not get answered tonight!!!” Well that explained why our order could not be called in ! Fortunately his wait time was only about 10 min which was not terrible for a Friday night. When my husband came in the house and we open the box, 😮😱😱😱😱😱 OMG!! It looked liked satan himself cooked those dried, hard as a rock, and break your tooth to eat kind of wings!!! Horrible! We ordered HONEY BBQ, LEMON PEPPER, and HOT WINGS, which they were cold well that explained why the order was so quick because they were not FRESH AT ALL!!! The fries was Delicious and the salad! This was not exspected being that I had rated House of Pizza as my go to Wing place because that is how great this place typically is! We tried calling back about 9:52 and noooooo answer to let them no and to replace or give us our money back!!! Our normal waitress was not there who is the best waitress ever!
