A true hidden gem in Orangeburg. I first experienced this restaurant having never tried Thai food at the request of a visiting friend. At that point, the pad see ew was incredible and I had thought about it ever since. Shortly after leaving state for a year, I most looked forward to coming back here and it did not let me down. Though somewhat daunting from the exterior - built into a Hardee’s that had closed, by looks, some time in the late 90s - the interior is dimly lit as a restaurant can be expected to be, but warm and inviting. Equally as much, the staff is available and happy to see you. I have personally been greeted with a smile every time and even tonight was given samples of the new bubble tea flavors that I only recently discovered was an option here. Not to mention, this restaurant serves incredible options for vegan and vegetarian eaters that seem to be in short supply in Orangeburg. I’ve made it a monthly staple to stop in and gorge myself on the curry here. Don’t hesitate if you’re in Orangeburg and have been debating trying...
Read moreWe love Thai food and this is the best restaurant for Thai we have found in the Columbia area. The atmosphere inside is lovely and the waitstaff were incredibly courteous. We got exceptional service and a beautiful/delicious meal. I will not think twice about driving to Orangeburg to eat at Thai Orchid the next time I am hungry for Massamun Curry.
The only reason we through to eat here was because we were driving through Orangeburg on our way home and the reviews for this restaurant were so positive. But they were not exaggerating --this restaurant is a hidden gem.
Do not let the outside appearance keep you away. We almost drove away because there were no cars in the parking lot and it looks a little questionable on the outside. We decided to trust the reviews and take a chance and could not have been happier that we did. Shortly after we were seated the place began to have more customers.
It's been a week since we ate there and I am thinking we should go...
Read moreI had a to go order from Thai Orchard while visiting Orangeburg, SC, for a family funeral. I initially called in my order and was told about 20 minutes for it to be ready. Arrived before the 20 minutes and wasn't impressed with the outer presence of the establishment. I was greeted by a young man who was kind, and let me know my order would be out shortly. Unfortunately, the shortly turned into a longer wait. I was told after my 20 minutes that they only had one cook, which was ok. However, I was the ONLY individual in the establishment waiting for an order. Place seemed a little disorganized with things out of place in a restaurant 🤔 but I expressed patience. I've had Thai food from all over the world in my travels, and unfortunately, this didn't do well as my favorite. I paid $30 for small portions, and the food lacked in taste for me. Was a little disappointed because of the distance we drove to try this place after...
