Had dinner here last night and was very pleased. All dinner items were a la carte and a limited wine by the glass selection. I ordered the Miso Seared Salmon, Sautéed Mushrooms, and a glass of Gnarly Head Cabernet. The Miso Seared Salmon was fresh, seared on the outside, rare on the inside. The delicate flavor of the salmon was complemented nicely by the basil sauce. The Sauteed Mushrooms were warm, and the mild flavors of the mushrooms were not overwhelmed by the garlic. Although the food was delicious, a better selection of wines by the glass would be a welcome improvement. The coast needs a few more exceptional restaurants like this one - a keeper.

Oshens has a new menu! Many choices for all! We were greeted at the door by both a server and the owner, taken to a comfy table in the bar where we could watch the wait staff bring out all the lovely food choices. Our server was very good. We enjoyed the roasted beet salad; the calamari (enough for an entree though it's listed as an appetizer); and the pan fried rockfish served over couscous with perfectly cooked veggies. All dishes had generous portions and were delicious, filled with subtle flavors. If you have hesitated to try Oshens in the past, certainly try them now with their new chef and wonderful menu selections. You'll be pleased ❤️

Worth making a trip here just to eat at this 'jewel' on the Oregon coast. We did not have reservations, but they were very nice when we called and said they could accommodate us...and boy, did they ever! They sat us at the Chefs table and we feasted on some of the best food we have ever tasted!! Starting with one of their smoked drinks (so much fun!), then on to a watermelon/feta/basil and some crab and salmon cake appetizers. Soup, Salads, Filets, Halibut and even burgers for mains and all were literally a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Food: 5 stars! Staff: Attentive, informed, and very kind and considerate Atmosphere: Nice ambience, comfy and inviting

The most disappointed I've been in SEVERAL years going out to eat. In fact, I had to let my anger simmer for five days before writing this review. This dining experience, to be quite frank, has affected my life, wallet, and honestly lowered my expectations for any restaurant to follow in the future.

I took two close friends and my wife and daughter to the coast this last weekend. Let me start by saying people come to me when they need a good food suggestion. Naturally, if I haven't been to an establishment, I refer to 'best of' lists. And when Oshen's was on a 'best of' list for food on Hwy 101, I went out of my way to take us there.

Big mistake. I don't even know where to begin, for I have things to accomplish today, but the whole thing was a mess. Upon arriving, the window markets the restaurant as a delicatessen. From what I gather from Facebook, this place rebranded a month or two ago. Do they still sell steaks like the 'best of' list suggests? With contradicting menus everywhere online; I cannot answer. But the SINGLE item my daughter would eat that we saw on the online menu, the chicken sandwich, was no longer available because the server said; "we are rebranding and no longer carry the chicken sandwich".

Look. I'm already tired of talking and thinking about this whole damn situation. From the flies, to coming out fifteen minutes after we place our order to let us know the sausage sandwich I ordered was 'out of stock', it was just not a good experience. On top of that, my visiting friend got his sandwich NINE minutes before the rest of us got our meals. Do you know how many fly turds probably got on my friend's sandwich as he patiently waited for our food to arrive. I guess the chowder was serviceable. At best.

By the way, the meat is Olympia Provisions, which you can find anywhere in the area. And also, the chef was yelling for the server to get her plates out faster. Awkward.

Place is a joke. Probably should have expected this from a place that can't even spell 'Oceans' correctly.

So now I question every single 'best of' list AND look like a moron for taking everyone here. To cap it all off, by the way, the server said; "I took the sandwich off the bill".

And that she did. The sandwich that I...

I met friends for breakfast here on a Sunday. I was excited to visit for a meal that is more within my budget than their dinners. We sat in the larger, lighter dining room, which was peaceful and comfortable.

Our server was very new and apologetic when we found ourselves waiting a while at first. However, she was attentive once things got going.

The staff were accommodating when one of my friends had questions and requests.

My friend's bloody Mary was extremely spicy. He enjoyed it but just an FYI for review readers, since it does not say it is spicy on the menu.

I ordered coffee with cream and was given a jar of CoffeeMate creamers in little plastic containers (original CoffeeMate and generic French vanilla). There was no unsweetened option and I don't like sweet coffee, so I asked for half and half or cream. Our server told me to use the Original CoffeeMate, and seemed frustrated when I explained that that is a sweet creamer. She said they did not have any half and half or cream, but was able to bring me a small container of milk, which was inadequate. By then my coffee was barely warm. I am surprised that a high-end restaurant only has cheap artificial creamers for their coffee.

I ordered the Scout Breakfast, which was very tasty but needed salt. It seemed that the toppings were seasoned but the eggs on the bottom were not. I was given a salt shaker/pepper grinder combo whose salt must have been caked up because it barely gave me any salt. At that point I did not want to bother the server again.

My friend's Farmer's Hash came with queso fresco, which was not listed on the menu. She enjoyed it but also said it could use more salt.

I don't remember what my other friend ordered, but he was overall pleased with it. He especially liked the side of cheesy grits that they served at his request even though they were not on the list of side dishes.

Our server was happy to show us around before we left. We saw the smaller dining room where the bar is, and she explained their plans to expand.

I think I will return, but after some time has gone by and they have more experience with their...

We had dinner and asking around we have discovered the breakfast chef must be where the good reviews are coming from.

Our dinner was unfortunately one of the worst we have ever experienced.

Location was nice, they did a great job on the remodel. Staff must have been overworked as she was rushing and people were left at the door for 5-10 minutes before being addressed, felt bad for her.

started with shrimp and bruschetta, besides the plating being kinda weird and just gotta set on the plate with some leaves. it was a good start. very promising.

dinner we had pesto pasta, filet and a tomahawk. wanted to try it all.

you think steak house, you think steak and potatoes right? how could they mess this up. after one bite wife is life try my filet. her meat was the lowest quality steak i have ever seen. and the prices were low enough we didnt expect high end steaks but we didnt expect the lowest grade possible. i dont even know if it was a filet but it was overcooked and flavorless.

pesto fine on the cook but again almost flavorless and we love pesto so huge bummer

tomahawk is kinda a novelty so not expecting the moon and the stars here. But some staff member walked by and was like oh did you order that because its free and you won a prize. it was such a weird question and he was kinda a mess i wasnt for sure if he was an employee or why he was asking this question but when i replied no he seemed kinda upset. guess he was working the bar or kitchen staff according to our waiter, but such a weird thing to assume. putting that strange interaction aside. the steak was cooked over and barely any flabor. i didnt finish it and threw away the leftovers. the potatoes on everyone's dish were lumpy and strange. vegetables again just soggy and weird.

I was warned that this place is a tourist trap. But Kevin working here gave me hope. Guess not.

weird service, lame food, never in my life have a i thrown away a steak for being so bland and hard to eat from a so called...
