UPDATE: 3/15/24 Oops I did it again. Exact same scenario as first. And same customer service experience. Bought 2 glazed- 1 vegan, 1 regular, and a Grape Ape. Verified twice that the vegan one was in fact that. “They’re all vegan,” the very friendly employee exclaimed. Um, what?! I told her that’s not what I ordered, just 1. She was shocked I wasn’t happy receiving the wrong doughnut and questioned my preference for batter. Voodoo is not Blue Star on the vegan ingredients, they just can’t get it right. She said she’d go in the back to get the next days doughnuts. Um, what?! Buyer beware- the $3-5 doughnut you bought is from 12-24 hours ago, apparently. She then gave me the driest, tasteless $2 glazed I’ve ever had. I’d bet my life is was vegan, and made days ago, not days in anticipation. Ugh. Voodoo. AGAIN?! 2 years ago: I’ll give 2 stars because of the convenience of having a PDX spot in OG, but other than that, the service and quality has been on a severe decline since it opened, while prices have been on a sharp incline. Went in tonight on the way home from dinner and remarked how the doughnut looked quite different than normal. “Yea” the cashier said, “because it’s vegan.” Interesting because that’s not what I ordered and you weren’t even going to tell me. While it’s just a doughnut and no harm, no foul, giving me something that I didn’t order and not informing me they were out, but instead substituting is way off putting. When I go to a coffee shop they don’t swap out creamer for almond milk and not tell me until I ask about taste. Poor form Voodoo. And poor customer service all around in response. Blank stare.

EDIT: did you see how they just copy and past their review responses? not sure if they really read it. Too expensive for its quality compared to other donut shops. The quality of the donut itself is good (in terms of the dough), but anything else you get on top will be overly sweet. We ordered the Voodoo dozen donuts which contained various different flavours and costed $25 USD. I was expecting higher quality since the price is double the cost of average donuts. For the price, they should also present the donuts better rather than stacking them... it's like they put no effort into it. The service was good overall, the cashier told us what was better for our price compared to buying donuts separately and explained which donut is more desired than another and allowed us to make a few (very minimal switches rather than choosing our own) compared to what is pre-selected. There also isn't an option for half dozen... The environment/vibe of the store was pretty interesting with a few old school arcades and merchandises. The best way to put it is that it’s a retro vibe. Their t-shirts/hats that they sell do look good so I can see how their marketing is really good. I was surprised that their store hours are very long, they open until 3am which is crazy, I had to double check and they were indeed open that late. In case someone had late night cravings, this would be a good place if you got the money. I wouldn’t come here again due to the price, maybe if the price was lower.

First-time customer alert !!📢⚠️ - There was a lot of hype about these donuts, but I would say it was a letdown. Possibly, many people like them based on their looks rather than texture and cream filling. - They have a large parking lot, which is great and convenient, and across the street, you can see they also have a food truck, which is cool.🚚 - Esthetic-wise, it's very nice and pink inside with arcade machines and artwork.🎮 - The menu is confusing, and the worker was not as helpful/informative either. "Better to get a dozen since it's more price affordable" doesn't really cut it for me. - The menu doesn't mention half a dozen options or picking your own donuts, which FYI would be more expensive per donut.📝 - The donut texture is different, but I won't say it's super sponge-like. The cream for all the donuts was SUPER SWEET. I definitely was not a fan of how sweet everything was.🍬🍬🍬🍬 - For 1 Dozen Donuts at $25 USD is way too expensive, especially if you are not from the States visiting. 💸 - I would say this place is too hyped and better to just save your money or try 1/2 donuts. Edit: Changing to 1 star Due to the fact that the owner is just copying and pasting a response back to everyone that is the same. ⭐️➖ If you actually read and take notes to try to implement something different; it would improve your customer experience and metrics of returning customers.

To the super amazing blonde female who let me sample my very first Voodoo donuts last week: This location went above and beyond anything I expected from stellar customer service. I had never had a Voodoo donut before, I had come in as a delivery driver, and I had mentioned to the woman behind the counter that, just making small talk and ended up leaving with a few chocolate goodies for myself to try. What an experience!! Each donut had its own personality, and I never thought I would ever say that about a donut. The first one had cereal on it and my only criticism was that went slightly overboard on toppings it was overkill because it took away from the delicious batter the donut was made of but the others were just perfection. Krispy Kreme’s batter is light and Airy and Voodoo is slightly heavier but more textured so it’s a matter of personal preference for sure. I enjoyed the rich complexity of the dough which although heavier still filled me up without making me feel sluggish and weighed down. I had to wait awhile to have the third delicious beauty and it was just as amazing as the others. Most importantly was the customer service. The fact that the staff member was kind and generous, it was a nod to the fantastic customer service from days of yore; something one doesn’t get to experience much anymore. That level of service needs to be called out because in this case, regardless of where I am in the world, this store won me over as a loyal lifelong customer, and had the food to back it up. So a huge round of applause for this location and a very huge thanks to my wonderful staff member for service with a smile. If I could give 10 stars it still wouldn’t match...
