I went in yesterday for lunch and was highly disappointed. As a review left prior to mine suggested to give the restaurant grace because it was a soft opening, there were glaring issues I could not overlook.
On the second day of their soft opening, when we walked in, we were the only patrons in the restaurant.
I ordered a soda and was not advised it was in a can. Not the biggest deal, but I just wasn’t expecting it. Just know, if you visit, you’ll only have the choice of Coke, Coke Zero, or Sprite. The water was decent tap water and came without straws. Pretty cool that it all came out on its own conveyor.
All of the food on the conveyor belt was extremely cold and did seem to be old. Whether or not they make the sushi fresh is not the point. The point of conveyor sushi is to have the freedom to choose from a variety of fresh sushi at my convenience. I usually only order from the menu if there is a specific plate I don’t see come around. If the sushi is not fresh to the point I should have to order it off of the menu, for health reasons, it should probably be removed and replaced.
As far as our server, she was very nice and personable. Provided 5 star service!
The point of a soft opening is to obtain feedback from customers. However, soft opening or not, our experience was so bad we got up, left, and went somewhere else for sushi.
The atmosphere was very warm and inviting. If you are looking for something more polished then yes, go somewhere more established. God forbid you want to try a new place closer to your house only to end up severely disappointed.
Ian, your review makes it seem like you have a stake in the restaurant. To specifically target a review left to the degree you did suggests to me that you may be a part owner. Also, many of the reviews I have read on here also seem to have been left by staff members judging by the profile pictures and the staff I had interactions with yesterday.
Good luck though!...
Read moreWas really excited to try this place and see what the hype was about. Unfortunately left disappointed and probably would not go back.
First when I walked in there was a party of 20 people trying to check out and when I asked the server to be seated she was really confused on what I was asking which was strange. We got seated pretty quick which was a plus and then it went down hill from there. We ordered a ramen and one sushi roll and I tried to order the agedashi tofu. Was told they might not have it and they would check. Server never came back to tell me if they had it or not.... they did not. Ramen came out first and then i had to ask where my sushi roll was. By the time I got my sushi roll my boyfriend was done eating his ramen already.
There was no sushi on the conveyor belt only sweets and if there was it looked really old. The roll I got was the atomic roll and somehow the rice was mushy but also not cooked all the way at the same time. Tuna was also fishy and oddly cooked (deep fried roll but I've never tasted a deep fried roll that the fish was weirdly cooked but not at the same time). We also had probably 4 different people help us. All the servers were oddly timid and I couldn't understand them most of the time or they would come to our table and just stare at us until I said something.
To mention the girl that was confused about us wanting to eat there and sit down also had friends dining in and she only seemed to care about her friends.
Wouldn't reccomend this place unfortunately and monster tea was closed :/ After eating a couple pieces of my atomic roll I am also not...
