8/10 times I have a great experience here. I’m leaving 5 stars still despite a recent experience as their check out system prompts customers to ask how their experience was…both in the boutique and garden area I recently dealt with less than friendly women. Typically I have seen this more mature woman gift wrapping the boutique and she has been friendly before but I accidentally left my garden cart in the middle aisle while shopping looking at fourth of July decor, you know what the store is designed to do, which is distract you by all the beautiful things, I realize I had left my cart and she started walking away with it, and I apologized that I had left it in the middle aisle blocking part of aisle and she just shoved it in my direction and kept walking, didn’t look up or say anything to me. So imo it was kind of rude considering I tried to apologize and be aware, she just didn’t acknowledge me at all and kept walking in opposite direction. Then I had some questions for someone out in the garden area where there are multiple pots and I just had some questions about watering, airing concerns for my east facing porch and which pot to pick. This lady just seemed very annoyed that I had questions did not ask if I needed help or if she could help me answer any other questions. I stress and worry to tend to these pots as I look forward to buying them every summer, but I don’t want to spend $70 a pot and buy the wrong one or not care for it properly or be led at least in a direction that might suit my sun exposure more. I am younger and I realize I don’t have the wisdom and experience many in older generations above me, which is why I hope to lean on the wisdom and expertise of said workers. I then eventually needed someone’s help with a different pot, again, the only worker around I could flag down, same one - just seemed very bothered and annoyed by me, even when I made a joke about blocking her Coke she was drinking. I want to assume the best and maybe these two ladies were just having an off day, but it might be worth management having a conversation with their staff about being more friendly and helpful to every individual. It was a disappointing recent experience to answer the question of the text and prompt I just received. I typically spend $200+ every time I am there, which is a lot for me. I have referred many to come here as I have found it to be a happy place of mine, but this was a bummer soured...
Read moreWe just moved to Utah County from South Eastern Utah where I would drive an hour and a half into Cortez, Colorado to find my favorite nurseries. Now that they are 5+ hours away, I needed a new happy place. I was so grateful to find Sun River Gardens! It has a beautiful shop with home decor, and wonderful displays of carefully arranged plant combinations (excellent designs - kudos to those responsible). I especially love it when there is beautiful music playing as I walk up and down each row and explore each horticulture scenario they have set up. I just love the atmosphere! I have been there multiple times in the last couple weeks, and each time friendly ladies have been there to help me. My husband and I just bought 7 beautiful trees to start building our new landscape. I am so excited about each one, but mostly the stately red oak tree that I saw and couldn't get out of my mind from my first visit. I was hesitant to buy it at first because it's such an investment, and I was worried that it might not survive. My apprehension turned to excitement when I found out that they offer a 5 year warranty on trees if you follow their planting guide (specific root stimulator, compost, and organic fertilizer - a sound practice in my view). I don't foresee any problems with these healthy looking trees, but with this guarantee in place, we can enjoy them without worry. I recommend Sun River Gardens to anyone who appreciates a relaxing atmosphere, beautiful arrangements, and peace of mind in purchases. In fact, we are headed over again this morning because that gorgeous Snow Fountains Weeping Cherry tree is calling to me . . . let's hope it's...
Read moreIf I could spend a day just walking through this store, over and over, I would do it. Or get me a chair and just sit and relax in the greenhouse. I've purchased many plants from this store. They are so healthy when you pick them up. I'm not what one would call a green thumb, but these plants have stayed alive for me!
You can buy already potted arrangements, pots, outside plants, indoor plants, succulents, soil, fertilizers, garden tools, etc. I can't name everything here, but they have seeds and things for planting a vegetable or flower garden, as well as bulbs.
There's a greenhouse full of healthy indoor plants and a nice area outdoors for trees, shrubs, and flowers. It's a secret garden in and of itself! The prices are fair too, especially when you consider the quality!
That's just getting started. The entire front of the store is like a country store, and there are a lot of home decor items. Cookbooks and cooking equipment can be found, and just a lot of neat stuff!
Plan on spending a little time and money if you come here. I give it 10 out of 5 stars! Everyone is so helpful and cheerful, and they even drill drainage holes for your pots you purchase from there! How cool is that!
Take my suggestion if you like any kind of plant and stop in at one of the best greenhouses I've...
