Wendy's — Restaurant in Orem

Wow. I am flabbergasted at the serious lack of cleanliness, judgment, and training that these employees exhibited.

For a busy Friday night, the restaurant was severely understaffed. Only one person per station and they were slow, disorganized, inaccurate, and incompetent.

None of them worked together as a team so no one knew what order was what. They kept yelling back and forth asking which item belonged to which order, mixing up orders, and misplacing items. All of this confusion led to very frustrated customers who had to wait an unusual and very dissatisfying amount of time for fast food.

The restaurant was dirty overall. The bathroom was neglected with toilet paper and paper towels on the floor. Tables and seating were left unattended so smeared food and garbage was everywhere. Boxes and food packaging were left to stumble over. The fries were overcooked, stale, and way too salty. The burgers were mashed and not at all presentable.

The food prep area was the most concerning. None of the employees wore gloves or hair nets. And the cashier kept going from the register to the food prep area and back, handling money, touching the computer screen, running his hands through his hair, and then touching customers' food. This cashier should have known that he needed to wear gloves and replace them every time he switched from being at the register to going to the back to grab orders.

At one point, he put his hands all over my friend's fries, some of which spilled out of the to-go bag, off of the tray, and onto the dirty counter. He then put those fries back in the bag with the rest of the fries instead of the garbage where they should have gone.

The fries were left out for over 30 minutes while we waited for the rest of our order. I asked him to replace the fries since they had been soiled and were now cold. He took them back to the warmer!!! Not the garbage or even the fryer and then he mixed them in with the fresh fries. Another employee grabbed those fries, put them in another customer's to-go bag and gave it to the girl who was manning the drive thru!!!

As a former fast food employee myself, I know what the health code is as well as the responsibilities and training for food handler's permits.

What I saw and experienced at this Wendy's was extremely disturbing. These employees need lots of training, a competent supervisor (who was not on staff that night), or they need to be fired from ever...

I’m leaving one star because the nuggets tasted good. We went here around 8pm. When pulling up to the drive thru, at least five of the workers were outside the store doing who knows what. When they saw our car they all ran inside. We got our food. Realized I was missing a hamburger so I went inside to get it. The worker gave me the missing burger and a free frosty for my troubles, which was nice. But as I was waiting I observed:

One of the workers behind the register showing a picture or video of what looked like someone in the drive thru to a co worker and them laughing at it. That’s annoying and we shouldn’t feel like workers are taking videos of us when we get our food.

While I’m standing there. Two of the workers were play-fighting and one dumped part of a frosty on the others head. This is in view of both the lobby and the drive thru. The one then starts to cuss out the other. No regard for the customers that can see them messing around.

The worker standing by the fries proceeds to take a hit of a purple vape pen (clearly positioning herself to try and block my view) and then pass it back to one of the workers at a grill where he then shoves it back in his pocket. Not to mention, no gloves were being used.

I appreciated the free frosty and the nuggets tasting good (1 star). Burgers were pink inside and cold. Very unprofessional. Avoid going to this location until there are some...

Two separate visits were negative/bad recently but a majority of my family's trips here we get average/passable food with above average customer service, hence the score.

Bad visit one, we bought a 50 pc nugget that was terrible that we threw away after eating 4. Each nugget had a weird texture or consistency of a tough rubber combined with a second layer of almost crunch? Seemed like they double fried the nuggets or they were ridiculously over cooked, or sat for a long time before being reheated and sold. Not ok! Shouldve come back to refund but we didn't since we were too busy to care (aren't we all?).

Second trip(s).... Lobby closes early and randomly. Walked the mile to come after confirming with worker they would be open only to watch the worker as we approached the door, five minutes before the given locked time, lock the door while (appearing to) not make eye contact deliberately. They have let us come in each time they closed early on us so thats a big plus for atmosphere/service but still frustrating, especially watching two other customers walking away from counter having just ordered, its not like they werent actively seating others.

Anyway, manager is nice enough. Some staff are super friendly. Food is average and probably not worth the price anymore given for 50 dollars I could make elaborate meals for my family. And fast not being fast in Orem with overpop and...
