I came to this restaurant today for the very first and only time. And I will tell you that I will never ever go back there! There was an older gentleman who works there when I went today who was so rude and had probably one of the foulest customer service attitudes I have ever seen! I have worked in the restaurant industry for a very long time and I will tell you that if customer service is not your thing then you probably should not be doing it for a living. Originally I had ordered my meal to be eating there. It had started to pick up and get windy and it was cold outside as well as inside. It was very uncomfortable for me and my friend so I went up to the counter and asked if I could take my food to go. Well apparently they had just finished plating up my food. So I ask the man if they can just box it up and I wanted to take it to go. He began to argue with me about the fact that I was taking my food to go like as if he was trying to make me change my mind to eat my food there when I didn't want to. It shouldn't matter if I wanted to eat there or not. I'm a paying customer and should not have to debate with an employee about where I choose to eat my meal. Then after my food was put in to-go boxes the man yelled out that my food was on the counter. When I went to go pick it up he did not even look at me or even say thank you to even make me feel appreciated at all as a customer. The two Latina looking ladies that were working we're both very nice. They were about the only Pleasant part of my visit. And when I had returned to work with my food to eat and looked inside my bag there was absolutely no silverware! What am I going to eat my food with , my hands? My face? I ordered a takizi sauce with pita bread and a lamb dish with rice and vegetables. When I open the container to my pita bread there was tzatziki sauce smeared on part of the bread and it was all soggy! You would think that even though I asked them to take it to go that they would give me new pita bread instead of giving me the soiled one! How appalling and lazy is that!? For a restaurant establishment in Orinda this is the rudest and laziest customer service I have ever had! And I won't be coming back! And I definitely will be telling all of my friends in the Orinda area about my...
Read moreI have been going to Petra for years and today I just had the worst experience at this restaurant due to the unbelievably rude female cashier! I walked in and said to the cashier that I had called and placed an order, number 4. She obviously didn't hear me and responded with a very snarky "well we didn't ask for your name so you'll need to know your order number" in which I responded "I didn't give you my name, like I said it was order number 4" she quickly grabbed my card and processed my payment. When I confronted her telling her I didn't appreciate her rude tone, she began to get hostile with me starting to insult me. I asked her which bag was my order? She grabs my food bag intentionally ripping the bag off of the counter so I wasn't able to reach it, the bag is completely ripped opened while she was throwing a complete tantrum! Yes, the food I already paid for. Her coworker, quickly re-bags the food and ignores the tantrum she just threw. I asked for her name to make a formal complaint and she refused asking me "I'm not giving you my name. Are you going to call the police on me?". I never mentioned calling the police, I'm just not ok with being treated so disrespectfully. She proceeded to take her phone out and try to take pictures of me. YES, the worker who is also handling the food, IS NOW TOUCHING HER DIRTY PHONE trying to take pictures of me. Keep in mind this is during the coronavirus pandemic, so gross and unsafe! I asked to speak with the owner, Alex, who was overseeing the entire situation and he did not intervene at all in any attempt to make it right. Another worker named Juan agreed to speak with me outside, to which Juan didn't even acknowledge or apologize for how inappropriately I had just been treated. He refused to refund my food and told me to come back the next day because he would make all the food for free. Why in the world would I ever come back to this place? I'm shocked with how poorly they treat customers. I would highly advise taking your business elsewhere and avoid this entire place! They are absolutely terrible and the cherry on top is that they recently increased their prices a ridiculous amount. $13 for a salad when it used to be around $8.
Unprofessional. Rude and not worth spending money at this awful...
Read moreTerrible customer service. I put in an order in person, and got something different. Didn't realize the error until I returned home. I called and they would not refund my meal. The food is fine, but after this customer service, I can't help but write this review.
(Later, in response to your response): Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. I did indeed order the Greek Platter with Hummus, Eggplant, Dolmas, Falafel, etc. Thank you for remembering :). I had ordered it two days prior, so I know what it has in it (and liked it). I had also asked for two slices of your meat on the side so I could try it. When I got home, all that was in the box was about 6 pieces of meat with a small salad (lettuce, olives, feta cheese), and two pieces of pita. I was really disappointed. When I called your restaurant, the person on the phone first seemed confused about my order, then accused me of not placing my order correctly, then told me it was my fault for not double-checking that you packed the right meal. I asked to speak with the manager, and she said she was the manager. I asked if I could speak with the owner, and she said he was the one who took my order, and he thinks I am wrong, too. I told her I did not have a car and could not come back to exchange the meal. She said that was "too bad." Honestly, I don't think I have ever been treated so rudely at a restaurant before. I do appreciate you writing back, and agreeing that I did order the Greek Platter. I was disappointed not to eat it again. I would still appreciate that refund,...
