I recommend Apache Mexican Grill in Oxford. The last time I was at Snap Taco for carry out and they didn’t give me all of my change (paid cash). When I asked if I could get the rest of my change the employee said “oh did you want it?” I stated of course I want all of my change back. I then asked why she didn’t give it to me and she said we don’t give it back unless you ask for it. Weird right? Today I gave them another shot for carry out, paid cash and didn’t get all of my change back. I ask for all of my change and the employee said “it’s sixteen cents” I said I’m aware of that. She said I’ll have to go get it. I asked why she chose not to give me all of my change and that this happened the last time I came here. She did not respond, but got an attitude and pulled a dollar out of her pouch and said take this and walked away. I tried to ask again why she chose not to give all of my change back and she said she didn’t want to talk about it. I spoke to the manager. She didn’t really have any kind of a response, but just asked how much the amount not given back was. I said that’s irrelevant but would like an answer as to why they are doing business like that. She responded with “ sometimes I ask if they would like to round up so I don’t have to give them their change”. I realized I was talking to idiots and thieves and left. From the moment we stepped into this incredible Mexican restaurant, we knew we were in for something special. The warm, inviting atmosphere felt like a true slice of Mexico — vibrant colors, beautiful handcrafted décor, and traditional music playing softly in the background. It struck the perfect balance between cozy and festive, making it ideal for both a casual night out or a special celebration.

Now let’s talk about the food — absolutely phenomenal. Every dish we ordered tasted homemade, bursting with authentic flavors you just don’t find at most places. The chips were perfectly crispy, served with fresh, flavorful salsa and guacamole that was clearly made from scratch. I had the carne asada tacos, and they were out of this world — juicy, seasoned to perfection, and wrapped in soft, fresh tortillas. The rice and beans that came on the side were anything but an afterthought; they were rich, well-seasoned, and comforting.

My partner ordered the queso birra and couldn’t stop raving about how light yet flavorful it was, with just the right touch of heat.

Well, I found it at Snap Taco. Don't let the name fool you, it's not just about tacos, they have a full offering of beloved Tex-Mex and Mexican fusion. Let me start with the salsa. At most places you get a thin flavorless liquid that is supposed to pass as salsa. Here the salsa is chock full of flavor with a tangy sweet taste of lime and fresh cilantro with just a hint of heat. A scoop delight! The Baja Taco is a fish taco that piles flavor on flavor over the crispest fish fillet I have ever had. The taco is layered with crunchy cabbage, avocado, and queso sauce, truly a mouthful of pleasure in every bite. I rate the price to taste value as very good. I suspect the other offering as of the same value and intend to try more. The dining is very clean and modern with both high and low tables with a 2 inch live edge top. The place has feel of a mom and pop that really enjoys what they do. If you near Lake Orion, make it a point to stop in, because you will have found your new favorite place for Mexican food...
