Pros: Very clean and good bathrooms, access to seating, fans and even some with sprayers, things to do for all ages (more on that in the cons), variety of food and drinks (sort of), free parking garage, not a ton of walking to and from, handles crowd well even when crowded plenty of bathrooms etc, there's free water in coolers which is really nice. Music theme nights such as reggae, Latin, 80's. 21+ nights also a plus. Security and staff are friendly and professional. Well-behaved crowd. Not a ton of crazy drunks or people on drugs. Pets allowed in. Vegan options are there, but pretty basic.
Cons: Kids and more kids and families. Think bounce houses and playground with pizza sauce and melted ice cream covered kids running between sandbox and seating. It caters to this and an older retired crowd for sure. Remarried older men to younger immigrants and families with kids would be a typical patron, but that's Orlando. Food is pricey and limited in refinement, very basic. It is Americanized everything. It can be crowded and loud, can't bring in outside food or cooler. Think fair/concert/festival foods and drink prices. Cover bands (bleh). This is not a concert venue, so not a lot of original music or instruments. Traditional wedding bands and music is mainstream and censored on regular nights. They have different night themes though. Food and drink lines are long. Cover charges up to $5-20 some nights. Far drive for most from town. Can be very loud and overstimulating. There's a lot of food, but I'm not wild about one single item there at all being stand out good. They'd be better off with some local food trucks. You can bring in the pizza from across the street, but the wait is forever on busier nights if you can even place an order. The menu is very finger food and unrefined.
I want better culinary options and some wine, please. Maybe some muddled craft drinks. This is not that. I'd pay more for a better band or even a DJ, 21+, and better food options.
I recommend to eat at a sit down restaurant off site before you go because of how busy it gets and I don't recommend any of the food.
Go on 21+ night if you don't have kids.
Get there early to get parking and a seat.
Pre-game cuz drinks are...
Read moreShort bearded manager gets 0 stars. Boxi park handed out wooden chips for free drinks a while back that my gf had saved. I went to use it and the bartender who was very nice said she had to ask because she’s never seen them before. So then she comes back and hands me the chip saying sorry they said no. I asked to speak to a manager kindly and she got him. He comes up and says they will not take them and he’s never seen it before and it’s “not theirs”. I ask him how long he has worked there he replies “2 years”. I’m thinking ok maybe this is before you got here. Then proceeds to take the chip and says it’s ours because it’s got their name on it and I ask why would you take it if it’s not something you take anymore. He shrugs and walks off with the chip even though the bartender gave it back to me before she went to get him. I’m a little shocked and ask for it back he says no continues to walk away. I told him I’d give a bad review and he waves his hands like he doesn’t care. Kind of rude. So now my gf is upset and goes and asks for it back. He says he was going to hook us up. Which is a lie because he told me right away he wouldn’t. Then my gf proves she got it from boxi park with a facebook video of multiple boxi chips in the video from when she got it. He gives it back to her. The whole thing was goofy and nonsensical. Even the bartender agreed it was silly. he could have certainly gone about the situation a better way. The drink was good but the manger not so much. His customer service should improve if he wants to avoid bad reviews. he could probably learn from the guys cleaning up the area or the nice bartender lady. I’ll give more stars because the place is cool and...
Read moreTo be honest it’s too loud in the main area to talk unless you want to screen to each other. It was not fun because you can’t make small comments and have someone hear you. If they could turn the music down by 30 dB, that would be better.
The food was delicious, but about $4 too much for what you’re getting. I ordered a hamburger and french fries and it was $17 I get a burger that’s slightly bigger than a slider. It was really juicy and delicious So overall, it wasn’t so bad.
We ended up leaving after about an hour and a half because it was just way too loud to talk to anybody Maybe after a few drinks, when my hearing would be adjusted, I wouldn’t mind screaming to my friends :-) Overall for those reasons, I would not go there with friends to hang out and try to have a conversation. It’s a good place to listen to band and have a couple of drinks. The drinks were also about $2-3 more than you would normally pay for what you got.
There is a variety of food choices there, but everyone of my friends that ordered different things said that it was overpriced for what they got. The restrooms were clean, so that’s definitely a plus and there are a lot of tables in the main area and a lot of standing room. The place is kid friendly as long as you don’t mind the super loud music. There is a parking garage with plenty of parking spots and it was free to park there. I...
