Caribbean Shack — Restaurant in Orlando

The decor and simple and relaxed. The service is professional and attentive yet very slow service. Had to wait a long time to even get an order in at the counter as the girl was also a server and order taker. They seem a little monotone not very friendly but not rude, just not upbeat didn’t feel very welcoming if you’re not a repeat customer it seems. They say meals are prepared fresh so the wait is very long . The portions are large depending on what you get. For example I got the mixed fried rice that was suppose to have all the meats ( crab, lamb, shrimp, chicken ) I can literally count 4 shrimps, two tiny crab pieces, barley no chicken maybe 4 tiny pieces of lamb it’s was 90 percent rice and I was very disappointed. They do have great flavor and taste, another portion was white rice, chicken is good, curry potatoes is good, and side portions are large but even getting chicken it was ok, a little dry but tasted good. I drive 30 miles due to the hype. And waited an hour to get my food. To me I don’t think it was worth it for a take out order. But if you dine it , it appears your service is better , portions are better, and it’s clean and comfortable in there but it can get crowded quickly. So dine in to eat if you have the time, but like most places to go orders do not seem like they care to give your order much attention or even enough meat , due to the fact I guess they think you won’t check it until you get home? I need more protein so it’s a pass for me , it wasn’t worth it but i appreciated...

This restaurant must be the 3rd West Indian ROTI establishment to take over this spot and I’m here to tell you that it’s hands down THE BEST of all and that goes for the greater Orlando area PERIOD! The customer service is top notch and the food is beyond on point - you talk about DELICIOUS! The doubles and aloo pie - Lord please give me the strength to not purchase these items every day🙏🏼….Listen “THE BEST”. With regards to the other dishes I’ve had, everything is well seasoned and you get a healthy portion that is worth the money spent. I also need to mention thatI have an array of food allergies, so I have had to call and ask them to ask a few questions about what’s in a certain dish(es) and I was treated with the absolute kindest courtesy in answering every question and even double checking with the chef to make sure something is COMPLETELY SAFE for my consumption - now that is top notch customer service as I mentioned above. Side note: last night I had the pumpkin dish for the first time and I shed a tear because it was sooooooo good!!! I had to call them back and compliment them on how RIDICULOUSLY DELICIOUS my order tasted. There is another Roti/Caribbean establishment not to far away from this place and their food, along with the sweet treats SUCKS x 10 - GROSS!!! Every meat dish is SWIMMING in oil and it all just taste horrible!!! If you want truly mouth watering, great food with dish after dish, plus your money’s worth, then just head over to CARIBBEAN SHACK and eat with a smile on...

I decided to stop by today because we seen a lot of social media post, and wanted to give them a try. We arrive at 12:20pm, and i went straight up to the front to start ordering. The kids & my father took a seat already so the employee assume we were dining in. She then asked if we wanted menus, which I stated “No because we were are ready to order” consider that I was already upfront. She then had asked me sit down to take my order. The male employee brought us waters as waited. I asked for an update at 12:40 from the same guy. He said he would check on it, I did voiced that “I wanted to just pay for my water and then leave”. He didn’t come back. Then I asked the manager/ owner at 12:50 for an update. Once again I stated “I was ready to just pay for my waters, and leave”. She said the food would out shortly. Then at 1pm I was called up front, and told that only half of my order was ready. The employee said we would comp for the plourie that’s was missing from the order due to the additional 10-15 mins wait. Mind you I’ve already waited 40 mins for food. The kids are hungry, and my elder father is upset.

Not only did I wait 40 mins for food. But the fact that the owner stated “if I wanted all my food ready at one time I would need to place my order in online”.
