I’ll preface this review by saying that I’m focusing on their Black Sugar Boba tea, as it’s my favorite and I’ve had it from multiple locations. I haven’t tried their dessert rice dishes or taro stuff yet. So I’ve been to the Meet Fresh locations in Cupertino, CA and Doraville, GA and I’m so happy to report that this Orlando location is on par with both! My husband and I were beyond excited that Meet Fresh was coming to Orlando, I’ll go ahead and describe us as boba snobs, and we LOVE Meet Fresh. The Black Sugar Boba is so good here. The boba texture is soft, chewy, and delightful. It’s warm when it goes into the cup, and has a strong black tea flavor too. The ratio of milk, ice, and boba is perfect. Enough ice to cool the milk, but not so much that it waters down the drink or mess with the boba. Idk if it’s a shared experience but I often find with boba tea that there is sometimes a lot of leftover boba in the bottom of the cup when I’ve finished the tea. Not so with this boba tea. There’s never anything left but a few ice chips in the bottom by the time I’ve finished and I appreciate that. It’s also a really pretty drink, if you’re into that (cough instagram cough). The boba-rista (is that a real word? It is now) coats the inside of the cup with the Black Sugar mix and it swirls around with the milk and looks cool. I’ll be honest, the location is a little weird. It’s hidden away in a kind of rundown plaza, but I think the incoming H-Mart and the draw of this Meet Fresh will pump some vitality into the area. Service is good, and the boba-ristas are friendly. I knew exactly what I wanted, so I didn’t get too much of a chance to chit chat about their recommendations the two times I’ve been in there. The shop is clean and bright inside, with many large tables and a couple of high tops. It’s a nice place to chill with some friends or read quietly or get some unimportant work done. All in all, we’re SO happy Meet Fresh has come to Orlando; makes grocery shopping at Lotte...
Read moreI been waiting for this place to open for a long time, finally get to try it tonight. It is certainly a big disappointment, we walked in to find a long line to the self serving kiosk to found out that we could order online and we choose a table to sit down. We ordered the items online and it said it will take 30 minutes. I went up to the lady that work there and ask about the order , she said we have your order and we should wait to get it. Turns out other people that came later than us got their orders before us. We went to check on our order and they had missed our order. Their shaved ice desert and their drink are not cheap. their desert and their drink tasted bland. The ice in their shaved ice desert are chunky, felt like the refrigerator at my house shave the ice better. They gave us a little cheap looking single serve cup of coffee mate to pour on top of a ~$9 worth of shaved ice desert. My oolong taro tea drink look super unappealing , looks like little pieces of throw up in it but turns out its under-blend pieces of taro. Which the drink looks nothing like the photo they show you around their store. This place need to shut its door and straighten themselves out before...
Read moreThis is my favorite Taiwanese dessert shop go-to now. When I first step into this shop, it makes me feel I am back in Plano, Texas again since our favorite Taiwanese dessert shop is there. I am determined to come back to try all their desserts one at a time. The desserts are made of natural ingredients and I like how we have options to customize the sugar level of each dessert and tea here.
Highlights: The atmosphere is very family and kid-friendly, bright and clean. We ordered the Chocolate egg waffles, Boba Caramel Pudding, and Potaro Ball. My kids enjoyed what they ordered. I love the Potaro Ball. The tofu is so smooth and fresh. The mochi is soft and chewy. I especially like how the ginger syrup is very lightly sweetened. Not too sweet at all. My new addiction is their hot Red Bean Signature soup (chè). (I have always hated anything with red beans until I tried this red bean dessert here.) I have tried the strawberry mango shaved ice with my friends. The portion is huge and was plenty to share with 8 people. I need to make more foodie friends to meet me here and share the shaved ice with because it is too much for one...
