Discrimination exists. Tried to stay away from this topic for years but today this sales person at Starbucks made me acknowledge this cruel truth.
Running behind, I requested the cashier to see if my coffee can be expedited since my plane was boarding. I was speaking to this very nice lady who clearly was of Arabic decent(I may be wrong, I want to acknowledge this lady's courage). She was nice and was trying her best to help, when her colleague overhearing my request, told me in a stern voice 'you will get your order based on your turn and you will not get till I clear all other orders'.
I agree that it is fair not to be partial towards me but the way she said was very humiliating. I acknowledged and tried to explain my situation but she kept blasting away!! I was hurt and stunned. Usually I walk away! But I did not. I had done no wrong.
She knew my plane is departing and they had collected my monies and she knew I had no option but to walk away!!
I stood my ground, to my relief the lady who checked me out supported and refuted that racist woman's claims that I was rude!!! The manager comes and tries to support the racist person!! Thankfully the cashier lady again supported me.
For once I did not leave, took my refund and told those 2, what they were!
I wish to thank the check out lady who had the courage to stand by the truth. Never ever will I shop with Starbucks till they approach me with an apology. The manager supported a discriminatory employee! I wish this incident was recorded:( I know I will have little impact on such a big company but I will stand my...
Read moreHey! Give these guys a break!!! Cheers to bust a$$ workers who get little to no thanks for breaking a sweat for and getting breakfast treats and drinks to nervous travelers, crying babies and HIGH energy kids!!!
Thank you especially to Jennifer (and I apologize to the other young woman who took care of us with beautiful pink nails and long braids and amazing smile)… outstanding service under pressure!!! I would hire them for any five star restaurant, teaching “how-to” under pressure, you get the picture!!!!
The restaurant was by the Air Canada airline and the line was 20 deep but went fast and was $3.55 for a small new cup black coffee and about $2.00 more for a decaf latte. I was also able to get a cup of water with ice with my coffee for free (thank you for that Jennifer).
Go to Starbucks get the coffee and skip the airport shop that charges $4.50 for water… spend it on treats or towards a souvenir cup from Starbucks and keep these folks employed!
Go, enjoy and stop being so nervous - they have got you covered...
Read moreNEW MANAGEMENT NEEDED!!! This is easily the worst Starbucks I've ever been to. Twice in a week I flew thru here and twice my order was messed up. The first visit they sold me an item they didn't have in stocks, although they replaced it with an item of my choice, they didn't offer a monetary reimbursement as the new item was a dollar less. I forgave them as it was a busy day for them. Today my second visit, the lady making the coffee gave tall when I ordered a venti mocha. The sticker on the side clearly had a "v" on the side, which i nicely asked about as again it was a busy day. The lady then grabbed my coffee, dumped it into a venti size cup and poured milk in, then with a spit amount of whipping handed it back. I was like, "What? You just did that in front of me." I told her she needs to "take her 15 minute break and recharge cause that was horrible" what she just did. She then cursed at me like this was all my fault. NEW...
