I am shook. I’ve been a fan of Baggins for awhile but my recent visit for lunch has me ready to take a loan out for a family of 4– $76 dollars for a sandwich lunch where the bread was so soggy when we got home it stuck to the paper it’s wrapped in (photo below from peeling it off the paper to eat). Their kids meals are limited so you end up trying to create a turkey sandwich meal at adult prices. I asked the person at the register the best and cheapest way to do it if I have two kids and looking for turkey sandwiches. She gave me an option where each kid gets a half turkey sandwich with chips and drink. That costs $30. But a full sandwich with all the bells and whistles (no drink and a side) costs $15. So why not say get a full sandwich, and a drink and chip for the kids to share???? That would be $10 less. They don’t show you the charges as they ring them up so you’re in it blind a bit especially when I’m asking the best options because for some reason kids only enjoy grilled cheese and peanut butter and jelly? When I went to inquire after looking at my receipt all they did was do the same computations I did in my head and just say yeah sorry it’s expensive for kids. We just had our last baggins meal, sadly. It’s very unaffordable for families & the lack of accommodations is interesting to say the least. In an area with lots of fixed income residents, may be a good idea to accommodate the families that are spending money and trying to support local but I can’t at these prices and lack...
Read moreWorst service I’ve ever seen. We came in at 4:50, not knowing the store closed at 5. I get it. You’re closing soon. Our bad. But there’s a way to say “we’re closing soon” without being rude and hostile to customers. The cashier (presumably the manager) was very short with me as I was ordering and didn’t say anything at all to me. No “thank you”. Nothing. As I got my food, the man threw my salad on the table from a distance like I was an animal. Everyone working there acted like they wanted to leave as soon as possible, god forbid they had to stay just a little late to give customers their food. The other girl was laughing at us and said “bye” in a very rude way. As a regular who enjoys their food a lot, I’m never coming back to this location or any of the other baggin’s locations for that matter if they hire people that treat customers like this. To anyone reading this, don’t go here or spend money here unless you want to be disrespected for no...
Read moreBrothers and sisters, Baggin's is an atavistic relic in an age denuded of the spiritual values necessary to keep it alive. Enter this establishment, and you will realize just how far from grace we have fallen, both as a country and as individuals. Look at the menu and feel your heart sink as you read the prices. 15.95 for a mediocre sandwich is a depressing fact that confronts any Baggin's customer. Nothing about the food justifies the prices here. The bread is second rate as is the meat. 16 bucks is just too much in this economy.
Let's talk about the architecture here. Baggin's feels like it belongs in a cold part of New Mexico, so it feels odd being in the Sonoran desert. There is a large fireplace which takes up an egregious amount of space here. It makes the place feel closer and unsettling.
Overall I feel 2 stars is an appropriate rating. Service was friendly, but not efficient, the price was terrible, the food mediocre, and the fireplace...
