OK I’m gonna start off with the good because I feel like this restaurant is doing a great job with the food and atmosphere. They have Friday fish fry where you can get fish and chips …as well as Taco Tuesday specials. The prices are between $15-$20 a plate which is something you may want to consider, when going to this restaurant.
The atmosphere is very clean and the bar surrounds the restaurant so you can more than likely get more restaurant seating at the bar than at the tables. They do not take reservations, so I would definitely come early for dinner on Fridays. They have a band from 7 to 9 I believe .
I ordered the Friday fish fry and let me tell you the portion size is three cod fillets with a handful of french fries and a mini portion of coleslaw. Just needed a tad of salt. My boyfriend ordered the chicken wings extra hot and I’m not sure reading the other reviews how people got that they were soggy and that they grilled them first and then fry them definitely not soggy. But I would highly recommend. Are there mini nachos which you can make vegetarian or add meat to your liking…
What I didn’t like was the service and I definitely understand reading some other reviews why people read it the way they did. We had a blonde waitress with a crop top who was rather rude. She started out pretty nice and took our order for the mini nachos however, after that, she didn’t seem to want to help us any longer and we literally had to wait 15 minutes to put our main course dinner in , after that, we had asked for fish and chips with vinegar. When the waiter/food runner brought out the food it was missing the vinegar… the blonde waitress never checked on us, so we flagged her down and asked where my boyfriends chicken wings were as well as the vinegar she proceeded to slam down the vinegar on our table! Trust me. Everyone heard! She then changed her...
Read moreVisited this restaurant 1 week after the soft opening. The food was pretty good and the service was great. They had a good beer selection and the drink prices were on par with other restaurants in the area. However, I am giving a 2 star review because the food prices are insane. We started with the Buffalo chicken drumettes. We received 8 chicken drumettes for $14. A little pricey for what you get but not outrageous. However, the entrees were another story. We ordered the Chubasco shrimp tacos for $14. The shrimp taco plate consisted of 2 small tortillas with 2 small shrimp on each tortilla and a small bowl of beans. That's right, $14 for 2 tortillas, 4 shrimp and a small bowl of beans. We also ordered the Chimichurri chicken torta, also for $14. This consisted of a chicken breast, bacon, cheese and avocado on a bun. When we asked if anything came with it, the server said it did not come with a side but we could order something else to go with it. So, $14 for a chicken sandwich with condiments and no side.
In the future, we might return if they had a happy hour with food and specials but with these prices and the amount of food you get, we will definitely not be...
Read moreThe Landing continues to get better and better, and this visit was highlighted by 10-star service from Maddy. Maddy is always pleasant with a warm & genuine smile and, oh so friendly. We could just come in for a dose of her sunshine and cheerfulness alone. When we were trying to decide between sweet potato fries or standard, Maddy said, no worries, I can give you a half of each! Who does that? But the Sayulita and La Paz Tacos are phenomenal too. The Sayulita is my fave with blackened cod and pineapple pico. My bride loves the fried cod La Paz Taco (normally $6.50 and only $4 on happy hour). Choose either flour or corn with a side of Charro Beans. We have yet to try the seared and blackened Ahi Tuni salad, as it looks absolutely delicious. Maybe next time. By the way, if you aren't lucky enough to have Maddy serve you, don't worry. Gabe and Isaac are both people pleasers too with equally energetic and cheerful dispositions. Can't go wrong at The Landing...
