The food is great. It tastes almost homemade! I don't normally like to try new things but this place often encourages me to because of how good it is. The diner is old-fashioned (in a good way), different from usual restaurants. If you're looking for something different from the normal fast-food, high-tech, impersonal vibe, you definitely should come here.
But I'm not so sure about the service. One day, I was trying to get takeout. Maybe it was because I came in a little after ten minutes after opening, but the server "helping" me was quite dismissive, almost to the point where I felt I shouldn't have taken her time to ask for takeout so she could serve others. I know I am not mistaken with the annoyance in her tone. After a few minutes of waiting, she misunderstood what I asked for and left another carryout order on the counter next to the register unattended.
Normally the servers are very nice, especially if you sit down and eat with a group. Perhaps she senses my awkwardness or something and disliked it. I don't know, but I know that if I see this server taking my order, I think I'll walk right out. My other experiences here have been great when with groups, just not so 4-5☆ when...
Read moreI visit this restaurant occasionally and have always been well pleased. However, my last visit has raised some concerns about it's future. As usual,my waitress was excellent, and my omelette was delicious but way too pricey. It was $12 and only included toast, which actually looked like one slice cut into 4 pieces instead of 2. Seriously, I went to an upscale breakfast chain last week and paid the same for an omelette, potatoes, and large, thick pieces of bread. But, the truly disturbing thing to me was the sign on each booth telling you to socialize at a minimum. This may not apply to me as a single patron, but given this is a small town gathering place where folks meet to socialize, I feel that this makes the entire vibe of the place very unfriendly. I have come here at busy times and did not mind to wait. This is a real turn off and I know of several similar places that would like...
Read moreI lovED coming here for an early breakfast or brunch until one Sunday when I decided to take a couple friends out to breakfast around noon. When we got there the waitress (who I think is a co-owner possibly) told us they were closing and we needed to hurry up.. Even though on their website it said they didn't close until 1:30. So then we ordered and she proceeded to yell at another waitress right in front of the whole restaurant saying she was never going to f*ing work on her shift anymore. She starts laughing and looks at everyone and says "God I can't wait to leave. I am not staying here past 30 minutes!" RIGHT in front of us! Not only was that the most HORRENDOUS customer service, but just so DISGUSTING to see another human being treated that way. I felt so embarrassed for taking my friends there....
