This place is huge! Boat parking and car parking. Gas station for your watercraft as well (check hours closed on Mondays). They have a main area with tons of outdoor seating and a pool. They also have some indoor seating. Then they have next door a 5 tier pool with a large stage for live music (check the website for music schedule, age restriction hours, and days of operation). We sat at the main area outside. There are lots of flies so turn on the fans or ask for the little fly spinners. We ordered the grouper finger appetizer which was crusted with corn flakes and super good, and it came with a raspberry tarter sauce which was great. We also got the jalapeno popper appetizer (you order per popper), and it is gigantic and absolutely stuffed with cream cheese and crab, great breading as well, it also came with a raspberry sauce which paired great, and ranch. These will fill you up so we also shared a seafood pasta. It comes with a deep fried dinner roll (so good), and a side salad. The pasta was super creamy and had good flavor. We also shared the grouper sandwich (which you can get fried, blackened or grilled), we got ours blackened and we chose fried green beans as our side from the recommendation of our server. The sandwich was great and came with regular tarter sauce, the fish was cooked perfect and had great flavor. The only thing was maybe it was a thinner or smaller piece of fish so the bread to fish ratio wasn't quite there, but the taste was good. The green beans came with ranch to dip and the batter was similar to like a fried pickle batter. They have a daily special and for Monday it is a dollar off Pain in the ass drinks (normally $9, so $8 on special). They are served blended/frozen in a small cup. It was delicious and refreshing, but just be aware of the small drink size for that. Overall we enjoyed our time here and definitely want to come back for swimming or live music for some more atmosphere...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. I think I had the worst hamburger I have ever had served. It was served with a bun that was falling apart there was nothing on it and it was so dried out it was falling apart. I had to ask the waitress to bring the lettuce that was to go with it. She told me they don’t normally serve that but if you need or want it then you have to ask. The ice tea tasted like it was three days old it was so stale. Our other meal was a Cuban and the bread was stale there the only thing about it was they done it as a panini so you could not really tell how dry it was. The people next to us reordered their sandwich 2 different times and said it was horrible. He finally gave up and didn’t eat. When they received Their check he was charged for it. He questioned the waiter and asked to see the manager which came out and said it was that cut of meat. And wouldn’t remove the charges. She later came by our table and asked how our meal was. I told her that it was the worst I had ever had and showed her how horrible the bun looked. She asked if the waitress had been back to check on us and I told her yes 1 time. 15 mins the waitress comes back out and asked if there was a problem and I told her about the hamburger. And she then tells us her manager was blaming her. I said I didn’t have a problem with her but the food. She then decided to start arguing and I just politely said, There was no reason to say anything as the people next to us had told us about their situation. She started calling them liars. Well that was it. If your younger and want to come hang out and drink at the pool and swim up bar that may be a great place to go. But I don’t recommend the food. The waitress and the manager are simply out of touch on...
Read moreBackwater Jacks is a fun and relaxing place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. The atmosphere was great, as they allow for both indoor and outdoor dining. I opted to eat outside next to the water to enjoy the views and cool breeze. The table also had an umbrella allowing for added shade and protection from the sun. The servers were all incredible. They seemed as if they actually enjoy working there. They talk with a smile, offer suggestions on food, are polite, patient and understanding. I thoroughly enjoyed my waitress! The food was not bad. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich that came with provolone cheese, and applewood smoked bacon on a toasted and buttery bun, accompanied with french fries and a slice of pickle. The chicken breast was on the smaller side compared to the bun (see picture), however, it was not fairly juicy and flavorful. I asked for BBQ sauce for the sandwich (which my waitress was happy to provide) and it took the entire sandwich up a notch! To drink I had ice water and a frozen margarita established as a house favorite. I can tell you, the alcohol in my drink was present and made me feel I got my money worth on the beverage! Overall, I would rate this place a 4.4 out of 5. Definitely recommend to others, especially on a nice day and with...
